Hi! We recently acquired a 1986
Bigfoot B19 Travel trailer which is in need of new
tires (and possibly wheels). This trailer has had the
axle flip modification and there's a lot of room in the fender wells. It looks like a set of 15 inch
tires would fit just fine. Does anybody have an opinion on which size would be the best one for this trailer. I haven't weighed it yet, but the unloaded
weight claimed by
Bigfoot is 2400 lbs, so I'm guessing that it 's probably 3000 lbs loaded. It has four
tires, so I don't think that it's absolutely necessary to use load range D tires. Right now it has a set of P195/70R/14
light truck tires which have missing pieces of tread on them. There's a well known trailer manufacturer here in Sacramento that will sell me a set of no-name Chinese 15 inch trailer tires mounted on no-name Chinese white wheels for about $100 each. Though that seems tempting, I think I'd better stick with some Goodyear Marathons or Kumho Radial 857s. Does either size have an advantage over the other? I appreciate your reply. We really like our
Bigfoot. We had tried a 1990 Sunrader Class C, but we found that a trailer suits our family better.
