Electric brakes

Hello, we are thinking of ordering a new trillium trailer. we get to customize it. what would people recommend? one of the choices is electric brakes. would people recommend to get those? it is for a light 13 feet Trillium.

Electric brakes are a great idea, less wear and tear on the tow vehicle. Most small car manufacturers reduce the towing allowance if the trailer does not have brakes. My Subaru Outback is rated at 2700 lbs with brakes, but only 1000 lbs without brakes.

Trailer brakes I feel are a must have. They have saved by trailer at least twice. The worst was going through Las Vagus. Freeway speeds (55-60mph towing) over a small rise and around the curve all traffic was stopped. Hard braking to keep from hitting the last car in line. (left hand curve) a quick glance out the right side mirror showed the Scamp wanting to pass, that just as I applying brakes. Stopped just a few feet for the last car. Said to myself "where's the trailer" looked in the center mirror. What do know it right behind me where is belonged.
The brakes did exactly what they're supposed to do. "keep the trailer behind the tow".
That made me a real believer of trailer brakes.

I bought a new 1300 from Trilliumrv (the other guy ) back when there were two manufacturers. One of the few options I ordered was brakes. The first time you descend a mountain you'll be glad you have them. Promise.
