Here is another incident with a smaller Jeep towing a full height single axle TT. Note: no evidence of a WDH.

It would be really nice to see how these trailers were loaded. If the trailer has something like a 4 wheeler parked tight against the rear door, balance is going to be WAY off.

I was almost sideswiped by someone driving a pickup and towing a wide trailer. The trailer was shaped like it could fit a pair of snowmobiles side by side. The trailer was much wider than the truck. The driver was driving like he didnt have a trailer at all. Between the speed, and the fact that the driver forgot he needed to check his mirrors occasionally, this guy was an accident waiting to happen. In both of these photos, the accident may be reduced to somebody "driving like and idiot."

Derek, I had a similar incident. I was riding my bike (pedals) on the inside of a turn. A pickup towing a long landscape trailer came from behind and passed by.

The truck was a few feet to my left as it went by but the trailer was inches away. The jerk got the middle finger pointing skyward. Rude, but I couldn't help myself.

We had someone die in a nearby incident similar to this. A cyclist was sideswiped by a trailer. The tow vehicle was pulled by a city worker.

It was a state trooper who was at the scene who posted the tweet, so I tend to believe what he said. It was definitely the driver doing something stupid, whether that was ignoring tow limits or something else I can't say. It looked like a toy hauler in other photos, but I'm not certain, either way it looked like a very long trailer. I was not intending to pick on Jeeps, I just thought the photo was relevant to towing.

No one was hurt!

Well...he only "said it" after someone named "Hillary" suggested it when commenting on his first tweet about the incident... Link.

I just don't see how "overtowing " can be presumed to be the cause of that mess- since the whole rig came to rest completely reversed in the lane of travel, there had to be some sudden hard braking/bad angles/massive unchecked motion by the trailer involved. Still spellin' "no trailer brakes" to me.

Even a Ford 350 could end up lookin' like that in the right conditions.
