As others have said, your Tacoma should be fine with almost any of the fiberglass egg trailers. Bigfoot is the only brand I can think of that might be too heavy. Escape (escapetrailer.com), Scamp, Casita, Trillium, Lil Snoozy, Parkliner, Eggcamper are all good candidates. The rounded edges will tow easier and with better fuel economy than a squared off stick built boxy trailer like mine.

That said, my KZ Spree Escape (16' long, great for 1 or 2 people) was under $10K new and weighs less than 3000 lbs ready to camp. But if I had the funds, I'd probably have an Escape egg or a Snoozy.

That's good news indeed. But my emphasis was "too much modification for this old, tired, fat boy." On the tacoma forums it's been done, but it's not anything I could do myself. Would have to hire it done. And when the Snoozy came out it was love at first sight........lol. Now I have my LEER topper awaiting pickup day of the Snoozy. Even got my brochures from the Yukon/Alaska area today.
But will be making plenty of short hops before I try anything ambitious as Alaska.

DON'T GO to Alaska! If you do, you'll be hooked and want to go again and again. That happened to me. We went three times and I want to go again but my wife says NO! And you know what they say, "if mama ain't happy..." You know the rest of it.

Pick a time when she wants to be home for an extended period, bring home flowers, and say, "Honey, do you mind if I take off to Alaska for a while?"
