Hitch & brake controls for 2013 Honda odyssey

We are picking up a 17' Spirit deluxe Casita in a few months. We have a 2013 Honda odyssey. Is there a specific weight distribution hitch kit and electric brake control that you recommend? Also, how's the towing with the Honda odyssey?
Thanks Jmw

I recommend reading this article:

If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.

Choose a weight-distribution system with a T(ongue)W(eight) rating that is closest to your towing setup's T(ongue)W(eight) to ensure the best performance.
We have a weight guide here:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...rld-43010.html

According to the spreadsheet in that topic, 17' Casitas' Tongue Weights are all over the map, but most fall in the range of 300 to 500 pounds, with the majority above 400 pounds. The lightest standard Weight Distribution Hitch is a double spring arm version rated for up to 600 pounds.
For 400 pound tongue weights and below there is a light duty single spring arm version.

Good day JMW

I'm am surprised more folks are not using the Oddy's as TV's. I keep reading many positive reports on how well they do.

Just this morning there was a very informative post about them. If you are interested check it out here. Post #72.... Fantasy Tow Vehicle - May the Forces Be With You - Page 6 - Airstream Forums
