How much is the average paint job?

Cricket, like others have said, don't get hung up on looks. Make it safe to tow, then work on the niceties. Once it is safe to tow and dry inside, you can camp in it. Sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag, use a Coleman stove outside to cook, with an ice chest for food storage.

In time, it will all happen.

Then I think you need to add your serial number to the list on this thread:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ere-42676.html

Cost of a paint job depends on who is doing the prep, the painting and what type of paint job. Check out the threads on Interlux Brightside.

If it is not too late... I would put new tires on it and do the rest of the work gradually. A thorough wash and clean will do wonders to perk up both you and the trailer. Our VT was really dirty with bad tires. One weekend made it immediately usable.

RE: Paint Jobs
Turn key: Drop it off and pick it up in a week, $1200-2000 depending on work needed.
DIY: With Interlux Briteside and a helper, about $300 for materials.
For some reason, many paint shops don't like to do RV's.

Well....I didn't buy it

Well....I had told the guy I was unsure because of the costs to get it ready to go (although theorectically I will be spending that much on anything I get I guess)....and wanted to check on a few things. He is leaving for his winter place in TX tomorrow morning so I knew I was on a timeline. When I called him back, he was extremely rude and wouldn't tell me what time he was leaving except to say it was early. I told him I could do early, but needed to know what time that was (early is different to many people)....he refused to give me a time for several minutes. When he finally did, he said that he planned on leaving sometime between this and that and hoped he'd still be there when I got there. He was driving to TX and absolutely refused to cooperate or budge on his time...so I had to pass....by that time, I had convinced myself I wanted it and was going to give it a go, but he was so rude, that I decided it wasn't worth my time to race there in the morning. If you want to add it to the list, it was number 3103 in MN. I guess there is a reason for everything...if all else fails, he'll be back in May, I can try again in the spring....

Cricket, I believe everything happens for a reason. I'm thinking this wasn't the trailer for you. Hang tough, the perfect one for you is just waiting for you to find it.

One thing Donna said (I think it was you Donna) was "Sometimes you need to buy one sight unseen"

This hits after three slipped through my fingers.

There are more down there and winter is a better time to shop. Prices are less at a premium !

Happy hunting!

Carol H., I looked at that one already. It won't work for my family and I.
