Yes I have two propane tanks and a front bath, but I can not understand why people think a front bath is heavy as all that is there is fiberglass and plastic as long as the black water tank is empty.

I can lift my tongue up to place it on the ball and I am not that strong. I can't imagine mine weighing anywhere near that much.

What ever it weights it seems to be towing with good stability and no sway.

I don't know how much the individual parts weigh but 400 lbs of touge weight is excessive for a 2000 lb trailer. If anyone has a very high tounge weight for a 200lb trailer I would suggest checking the measurements ans cothen consider moving the trailer axel forward.

Don,
That 400 lbs figure came from Gina's stick built trailer and she did not say how big it was.

I pull a 14' EEE surfside.((1500 pounds dry) with our patriot and all is good but when loaded with gear and water I am pushing that tow limit rating at 2060 pounds. if your trailer is 1900 pounds dry no wonder your having issues on the hills.

Otherwise I have no problems with braking and sway. I hauled it all the way form the factory in Backus MN to Albany NY with no issues. In fact, sometimes I forgot I was towing…

The scamp weighs somewhere around 1900 lbs.

The Jeep Patriot has a 2.4 L 4 cylinder engine with an all wheel drive CVT transmission. I average around 22-25 MPG while towing (about 28 mpg when not towing). The only thing I had to do was wire up a brake controller and a 7-pin tow harness. It has a tow capacity of 2000 lbs with the tow package and a hitch weight of 225 lbs.

For anyone that is looking for a good all-around TV that is good on gas and not too big I think the Patriot is the way to go for towing around our little FG RV’s as long as you are not in a very mountainous area

It was from my 17 foot Burro. My stick built one is not nearly as heavy.

The Burro had in front of the axles... most of the Kitchen, including the heavy fridge, a gaucho with storage beneath, g29 Battery, tackle for weight distribution (I had a single bar sideways mount) 2 propane tanks and a double hull.

The dry weight of the trailer was 2400 on the axles. Loaded it was 2820.

My stick built with NO fridge is 2400 on the axles, fully loaded. It isn't nearly as nice as the Burro, but it does tow a lot better.

I haven't weighed the tongue on mine but it's a 17 foot boler with two tanks and front bath...and it's heavy.. takes two people to lift it onto the hitch.

TV 2009 Wrangler 4dr

Tow with 4-dr 2009 Wrangler and managed the trip to the Scamp factory and back to Pennsylvania. Planning a longer journey to Montana this September. Hoping we can make the mountains with the 6-spd standard transmission. And the Goldens navigate.
