Hi: James P M... Our Escape 5.0 was factory equipped with 15" Goodyear Marathons and a 3500 lb. Dexter axle. So far they have been from coast to coast plus Alaska, and many side trips too.
I did fall victim to the cracked valve stem issue but changed them pronto... no damage to report!!! Cost $30.
I keep the tires inflated to 5 lbs less than Max. Seems to work for ME!!! YMMV.

Thanks Alf S.

The 5 lbs less than max is my way, too. I guess the main question now re the Marathon 225/15s on Casita trailer is: will the tires be mounted on a wheel of the correct width: 6 inches.

They've had a lot of people wondering for the last few months...

Update: We decided to see how the Goodyear Marathon 15 Ds would behave. We've been doing some traveling since pick-up last October, but have been keeping the trailer light, light, light... with the tires at 5 lbs below max... after balancing them early-on and keeping a careful watch. We now have 9,400 miles on them... with no problems to report.

Ready to hit the road once more
