New Scamp 13'

Got our new 13' Scamp...being completely new to all this we did not consider a tongue wheel(??? is this the correct term?) to manuever the rig into our storage space after detaching from the vehicle....can anyone recommend one that is easy to install on the Scamp frame?
Thanks

Rick, a number of people just pick up the tongue on a 13' trailer and handwheel the trailer into parking spots.

Scamp sells a wheel for the 16' trailer (only). Don't know why... you might call and ask: Wheel For Front Tongue Jack For 16ft Trailer

Doesn't the flat foot just come off so you can slide a wheel into the end of it?
Every one that I have seen does.

In other words Rick, usually the jack has an open end and you can just set the end on the ground or get a flat foot or wheel that slide into the ope end.

One word of warning though,I replaced a worn out wheel with a brand new one once and the trailer just took off without me when on the new working wheel!
I couldn't beleive how easily it wheeled with the new one.

Seriously you don't/shouldn't need a wheel. Does it have a jack? If it doesn't you can pick one up for $20 or so and they usually come with a wheel. But, once again, they are so light you shouldn't need a wheel.

Since I didn't want to risk putting out my 62-year-old back trying to move the Scamp that last 6 inches (because it ain't THAT light), I went to Northern Tool (or a Harbor Freight or farm supply place) and bought a bolt-on wheel jack for @ $20. Just be careful not to deploy it on a hill or you may be chasing after your Scamp!
You can see pics of how I attached it in my album.

Oh, and by the way, congrats on a new Scamp! You'll love it!

Funny I just looked at the Scamp Parts store and they only sell the wheel that can be added to the jack for the 16' only - I would call them and ask why. Perhaps the one they put on the 13' cant take the wheel?? If the current jack can take a wheel you can buy then at Camping World - Tongue Jack Caster or at most RV stores.

If the jack Scamp has put on the trailer cant have a wheel fitted to it you can pick up at Campworld or pretty well any RV shop a side mount swivel tongue jack that are petty easy to install.

Or you could just look for a cheap or used trailer dolly to use when your at home.

Rather than a wheel on the bottom of the tongue jack, how about a tongue dolly? I have one and can move my 16' Scamp around under the carport. Trailer Dolly

I have this same dolly--$50. If space to stow it is an issue though, Harbor Freight also had the wheel that swings out of the way.

I use eTrailer.com

If you can't add a wheel the you can probably find a replacement jack and install it in minutes.

Regarding the side mounts. I have had problems with these unless mounted to welded on tabs on the tongue. With that done they have been trouble free with the exception on being a bit sticky when trying to fold them up or down.

If you have a space to keep a tongue dolly I would get that. Unfortunatly Im not strong enough to really move my tongue on the ParkLiner... maybe if I swap out the 2 steel tanks for 1 composite tank...and keep working out at the gym lol. What I usualy do is cut a few 2x8's about 2 feet long and lower the tongue jack onto them and when backing my truck up to it I can slide the tongue jack a little on the boards to get it to lineup... but if you keep practising backing up you will get better at it!
