New tow vehicule

Hi, for the last 3 years we were towing our Boler with a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Not the greatest tow vehicule but it was doing the job. The handling was very good, but the small V6 2.7L had just enough power.

Suzuki went into bankrupcy in the USA and are now closing in Canada. Being a 7.5 years old vehicule with around 110 000km on it I wasn't comfortable any more to travel with it, so it was time to change.

I picked a 2012 Jeep Wrangler with the new 3.6L engine, standard transmission and 3:73 diff gear ratio. I just made 100km with the Boler behind it and I'm very pleased.

It has more than enough power and since it is struggling less to tow the Boler, the MPG is better.

It will be a blast to tow with it top down

I was sorry to hear about the demise of Suzuki from the American/Canadian market. I always thought the Grand Vitara one of the nicer appearing small SUV's. Our neighbor has one and loves it.

My wife drives a 2011 Subaru Forester as her personal car. Unfortunately equipped the way she wanted it, the towing capacity is limited at 1500 lbs. So, for the time being we'll stick with our old 83 diesel Blazer. It's been very reliable and has no major issues, but with several 100,000 miles on the clock it is getting a bit shabby.

I have considered a Wrangler with a hard shell top one of the top vehicles to replace the Blazer, except that they don't offer it with a diesel engine. I love diesels for towing.

I'm sure you'll find your Wrangler to be a very worthy tow vehicle!
