Boy, ain't that the truth! I've got this little Ford Fiesta with like a one liter motor that can hardly get out of its own way. I wish I had one of these Fiestas: 1957 Olds Fiesta station wagon

Hmmmm...Sounds like it's comeback time for the 12 passenger Dodge V-10 Caravan-Vipervan that they never built. But that would sure fill the bill, even if gas was $5 a gallon again, the E-Ticket ride would be worth the price. LOLOLOL

At the Vintage trailer rally held in Lynden Washington each fall they hold a measure off competition to see who has the longest station wagon.

Leave it to someone that has to have a contest about length....

It's not about how long ones waggin might be, it's the skill of the driver that counts.

One of our favorite vehicles was a Ford LTD wagon. It seemed that the engine was barely rotating at speed and could carry a ton, also very reliable but it did suck down fuel.

Interestingly, though large I doubt it could haul (in volume) as much as our Honda Odyssey.

Overall the Ford LTD was a very good station wagon and very reliable.

Along with Pismo its become the go to vintage trailer event here on the West coast with about 150 trailers or more attending each year -number goes up each year - many of them being pulled by equally as vintage tugs.

You can see some pretty cool & rare trailers as well as cars & trucks.

But, isn't this the ideal "Family Vacation" wagon, The Family Truckster?

Sorry, I don't have a pic of it towing my Burro but I figured so what. This is my '59 Ford wagon, V8 (1965 Ford 390 HP) and automatic. Been all the way to the East Coast twice. I also have a '56 Ford F-100. The wagon is used for long runs and the truck is used for anything under 200 miles.
