Roger, its real marine plywood with several coats of varnish to seal it.

Even marine plywood should be sealed with something like 3M 5200. Better safe than sorry, and it does not cost much.

Sid, I don't believe the sequential build number is stamped on the trailer. I think the only way to get that information is to ask the factory. Since you are the original owner, it shouldn't take them a minute to check their build schedule, find your name, cross reference to the build number, and tell you what your build number was. I think. If nothing else, it's kind of cool just knowing it.... Dale

Ask the factory all you want folks, but it appears they did NOT keep records. At least that was what I was told. They have no idea what # any of these trailers are, no records. Amazing isn't it?
On the other hand, after dealing with them, I don't doubt they would tell you a number just to keep you happy!

Parkliner fixed!
looks great, nice simple mod. I'm thinking of going a similar way just cuz our van now has such nice ground clearance (lifted a bit last spring)...and also...i just like the more "Off Road" capable look of a lifted rig (van/truck) and trailer to match. My one gripe on the PL design was there was no "Off Road" option to lift it from the factory...The stock PL's look quite nice in a low-rider parade
Happy (higher) Trails!

Is the area circled welded? I was trying to figure out if the axle drops straight down, or slides out sideways with square tubing nested inside square tubing?

That's the mounting flange on the axle. It's bolted to an L shaped flange welded to the frame. The frame flange has a cut out to accommodate the axle tube. I have the same arrangement on my Trillium.
Looking at that picture, one thing I would recommend is some sort of water proofing on those brake wire crimp connectors. They won't take long to corrode with the ends exposed. Raz

Ya gotta love ParkLiner. The owner (Chandler) told me not too worry about those unprotected crimped on connectors under the trailer. I did a double dose of Liquid Electrical Tape on all I could find once I got my trailer back from the factory. There's a bunch of unprotected crimped connectors under the trailer, 2 on the right and a bunch on the left. Raz is exactly correct - unprotected, they will corrode quickly if the trailer is used much. Shoddy workmanship in my book.

Thanks Raz for the waterproofing suggestion. I went out tonight and did every one that I could find. Better safe than sorry!

You can be sloppy with that stuff too Thom, though after years of use, I'm pretty good now!
I usually do two coats. You'll find it naturally wicks into openings (i.e., the ends of the crimped connections) the first time. I do two coats just because of my compulsive nature.

On a used trailer do you think maybe corrosion has already started. I would have cut off those connectors and replaced them with new ones that have heat shrink on them

Frank...i used a similar product to waterproof all the electronics on our RC Rock Crawlers, i just didn't think of doing the same on the PL. Thanks for the polite Whack on the side of my head to do a good thing for the TT.

No problem Thom. It was one of the first things I looked at. I has asked ParkLiner to do something with them when it was down for the battery movement (and a number of other things that did not get done), but Chandler was not concerned with it at all.
Also, I have found over time that heat shrink tubing will dry out and allow moisture in. I've been using liquid e tape for maybe 20 years, and it does not degrade like heat shrink tubing will. I started using it on my boat restorations years ago, and now use it all the time on about any 12V connections.

Frank, I know you told me about this earlier, do you recommend a particular brand of e tape or are they all just about the same?
Thanks

The first one I ever used was Star Brite Pat, but my experience is that they are all about the same. I look for Star Brite when I run out, but can't always find it. Amazon carries it: http://www.amazon.com/Star-brite-Liq.../dp/B0000AXNOD
Take care and give those pups a scratch on the head for me would ya?

Sounds good Pat. At least with mine, there were two on the right side and 5 or 6 maybe on the left. They're not particularly easy to get to. It helps if the wheels are off when you're doing it.
I hope you and those 4 legged kids are doing great!
