Sorry folks,

I should have tested it after posting. I was too excited reading his comments and all the posts on the thread. Here it goes again.

Remember Andy's comments are on posts 77 and 78 of the thread.

Ok - I read the pages on the "Scare Scream" forums

It looks like - if we are to place ANY faith in Can-Am's results, we must adhere to their findings which means that ALL of the following must be adhered to

1) It must be a trailer with fully independent suspension
2) The Trailer MUST have an ultra-low center of gravity (center of mass)
3) The trailer must have 12 inch brakes (minimum)
4) You must be using a Hensley Arrow hitch system
5) Your electrical plug must be carried INSIDE your tug (not down by the hitch)
6) Very LOW PROFILE tires must be used on the tug

Did I miss anything?

So, for all the folks on here who keep saying that "it must be ok because I do it" - and then quote Can-Am as authority to "prove" that they are right - I challenge you to take your rig - AS IS - to Can-Am and get it checked out, and provide us with a copy of their findings.

It's obvious that this topic makes people angry, both on our web site and the Airstream site. Anger bothers me. As a result this is my last post on this topic on this web site.

My point about Can AM is that they are a company that knows something about towing and tow vehicles. The typical trailer they sell is larger and heavier than ours, yet they have successfully towed with smaller vehicles like the VW Jetta.

I value knowledge and they have some. I attempt to understand as much as possible and hope others do as well, the gaining of knowledge by anyone benefits them and me.

To anyone who is interested in the spectrum of possibilities and solutions, Can Ams ideas and opinions should be important. It's plainly obvious that they have been and are successful, having sold a lot of trailers with many happy customers.

I look upon their success with great respect. People who produce success do make a difference... ask John Galt.

I am not seeing anything new here since my comment. I am seeing repetition of the same statements. I think we all must take a time out. This thread is closed.
