Ooh, the Snoozy cross-dresses? Or you do, Carl? "... in drag." Kinky!

We are towing a 21 foot Bigfoot, apron 5000lbs with a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3l diesel. We get aprox 17mpg towing and just under 30 without. Love it. Towed through the BC mountains this summer and was very impressed.

towing Lil snoozy

Well we filled the Sequia up and we got 14.8 mpg towing Lil snoozy at 60 mph at 2000rpm I still would like to get a little better but for a 5000lb vehicle I guess it's the best i can do .

I burn 100% gasoline.
I use ethynol only when nothing else is available.
I find it makes a little bit of difference.
And 50 mph may get you better mpg.

I have a 2014 JGC with the gas V6. The diesel gets better mileage and has a lot more torque (more than the Hemi) but $/mile for fuel, it's about the same as the V6 because diesel fuel is so much more expensive than regular gasoline. Plus the diesel costs $4k plus requires another $3k option package. I recently towed the Snoozy 1000 miles to Alabama and left it there. 16 mpg towing at 65 mph going south, 24 mpg at 78 mph returning north. 4wd gas V6 EPA rated 24 mpg hwy, tows 6200#, 4wd diesel EPA rated 28 mpg, tows 7200 #.

Gasoline with 10% ethanol has 3% less energy content than 100% gasoline.

I tow a 19 foot Escape (4000 pounds) with a 1996 Chevy Tahoe, 5.6L V-8, 4WD. My best towing mileage was 16 mpg --maintaining strict 55-58 mph on I-40, Flagstaff to Albuquerque.

Worst was 11-12 mpg in hill country.

Towing a 16 ft Casita with a 1999 Toyota 4-runner, we can get 18 MPG if the terrain is flat, but in the hills of VT, it goes down to 14-15 MPG.

2004 nissan titan, 19'scamp, loaded including 40 gallons fresh water, 75 mph, 12.5 mpg. That's with intake/exhaust/high performance tune. I could put one of the other tunes on, it takes it from 17 to 20 mpg unloaded if I do, but I don't like the loss of power towing.
