Scamp Wheels

I have an early 80s scamp an replaced the torsion axle last year but are running the same wheels/tire combo as before,my question is, what after market wheels with that same bolt pattern can I use.I don't really want to change size of anything an I wasn't sure if any older car has that same bolt pattern..Thanks in advance...

the four bolt pattern is the same as the Mustang, Pinto and dozens of other cars built after 1970. (4 on 4.25) 5" wide is about perfect but 4.5" to 6" will work.
Problem is you need ZERO offset for your trailer and can tolerate less than 1" negative offset and likely even less positive.
Here are some ...

Quattro 84-85 4 X 4- 1/4" Ford Fairmont 78-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Ford Mustang (except SVO) 74-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Ford Thunderbird 80-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Ford Pinto 71-80 4 X 4- 1/4" Ford Fiesta 78-85 4 X 4- 1/4" Ford Escort 80-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Merkur 85-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Zephyr, Z-7 78-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Cougar , XR7 80-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Merkur XR4Yi 80-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Lynx , LN-7 80-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Topaz 82-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Mercury Capri & Capri II 71-86 4 X 4- 1/4" Porsche 924 77-82 4 X 4- 1/4" Sunbeam Tiger , Alpine, Arrow 65-70

Thanks So Much Floyd,I remember seeing somewhere that someone used old mustang rims but wasn't sure if they used spacers or what for the offset.

the Ansen Sprint style wheel taken from a mid '70s Pinto/MustangII worked great on my '73 LoveBug...

I've came across some 14" rims with the same bolt pattern, would there be enough clearance changing from 13" to 14" ?? I would love to see what other members are running on their old Scamps..

What is the offset? Zero or close to zero is required as I understand it.

I've looked at mine wonder if I could go to 14 inch wheels. I think there is a part of the shell / wheel well forward of the wheel on the starboard side that will be too close. That could be trimmed off however. The other issue is the aging of the torsion axle. Even if there is enough clearance for the tire now, that does not guarantee they will be in the future.

Part of my looking at this was reading many prior posts on the subject. The info seemed to be mixed however.

I replaced the torsion axle last year, but if you look at some of these pics,it looks like folks may have "trimmed' the wheel well skirt a little,I did that on mine but if I can get some nice looking wheels I may see how much more I can trim to expose more of the wheel. It's very easy to do with a dremal cutting blade, the trick is to get them both uniform and to make it look like it's "factory"
