Speedfix towing mirror

I've tried several towing mirrors that attach to the vehicle mirror and none have been totally satisfactory. Some don't extend far enough, some slide around, some are too difficult to attach and re-attach. I took the Speedfix on a 200 mile drive on my Honda Ridgeline today and it performed far better than any other I've tried. Very easy on-off, rock steady, very adjustable, and gives a better view behind my small travel trailer than any of the others.

No. I've seen it but decided not to try it. I think the Speedfix is effective and a whole lot cheaper. Thanks for the thought though.

Walt,
Your's looks like a version of my favorite, the Milenco. I replaced the pair of McKesh that I used because the new tow vehicle had no rubber strip along the door. Plus, I worried that is I ever hit the mirror on something while driving the door damage would be substantial.

Thanks for mentioning the Speedfix. I have a Ridgeline and am frustrated with the mirrors I have. Now I just have to find a Canadian outlet.

So far I've seen it at Campingworld and Amazon.
If you can find someone to bring you one over the border I think you'll be pleased.
I was like you which is why I decided to give the Speedfix a try after seeing how it attached. Sure glad I did.
The odd shape of the Ridgeline mirror even precludes some of the popular mirrors.

The Speedfix is obviously the Milenco with a major improvement (the hinge) and is much cheaper as well.

Does look like a knockoff of the Milenco.
I've had Milenco Grand Aero for several years and am still happy with them.

I was just wondering if you could compare the two. I have heard that most of the mirrors that mount as an extension on the vehicle mirrors had problems with shaking, and were therefore hard to see things in. So far this thread seems to counter that however.

I actually have a pair of the McKesh and have them up for sale (local pick-up only). I was very happy with how well they worked, but didn't seem to need them and ended up leaving them at home all the time. I finally decided if I was not going to use them, I might as well sell them. They did work very well but I can't compare to other add on mirrors.

I've seen the "shaking" complaint about add on mirrors several times. I've tried several types and they do shake a little, but never enough to be even a slight problem.

Like Glen, I've used the Milenco Grand Aero mirrors for several years (having previously tried several other options including the type that is anchored with a strap on the door) and like them very much. Quick and easy to install and work well. Slight vibration but not enough to be a concern. The flexible elbow on the speedflex does look like a useful improvement though with the bend in the Milenco elbow I can generally adjust the rod angle to get the desired result.

I prefer fewer moving parts. The bend in the Milenco rod allows you to rotate the solid rod to the position required.
