Re: insurance on a FGRV.I contacted my insurance agent and was told that under my policy,as long as the trailer is hooked to the tow vehicle,it is covered for liability.However...if the trailer comes unhooked going down the road,it is on it's own,in more ways than one.So I got full coverage for the Scamp...comp,liability,medical,etc,for $15/month.Cheap price for peace of mind.

Either your agent was jerking your chain, or you need a new insurance company!
BTW; we have full coverage on our Scamp too.

Sorry...but I trust my insurance agent of 30 years more than I trust what I see posted here.

Smart. Your insurance company will be the one to pay the bill if something goes wrong, not anyone here on FiberglassRV. Nor would I trust any privately owned website to provide towing requirements by state. It's okay for a cursory look, but only the particular state DMV can provide actual requirements. How often is a privately owned site updated and if the info is absolutely correct, are the big questions for me. YMMV

Exactly my point, trust your insurance agent, and find a new policy.

To quote that sage philosopher and orator KingFish....
"Yes suh Amos, Ya know the BIG print giveth and the FINE print taketh away!"
