I have been running with 1 sway bar this year(since our "almost" devastating speed wabble on a major Hwy 2 yrs ago).
Would it be safer using 2 (1 on each side), or is just the 1 more than enough,??

I have seen larger trailers with 2 a few times,
and we are going to do a trip next Summer, that consist of appx 4000 miles,
so I really want to be as safe as possible.

Any advise is appreciated.

You are talking about the "leveling bars" on a weight equalizing hitch? I have never seen just one used? Always in a pair. Another thought would be the friction style pad sway bar that hooks onto a small ball on the side of your TV hitch and another ball mounted on the side of the tongue. You can tighten up the friction pad with the lever on it. These work good for sway control. I used these when we towed a larger 24ft trailer with our 1940 Chev a few years back.

It is a friction sway bar that I,m using on 1 side(small ball on each end).
I was wondering if I should use 1 on each side.

Don't think it is a good idea to have one on each side. My thinking is that they could start acting against each other in a situation and not helping at all. Have you had sway problems with this friction sway bar installed? You don't have the trailer overweighted on the back end, do you? And of course the tire inflation is good...

NO.
I haven't had any problems at all since using the sway bar.

I kinda wondered if 2 of them would work against each other.

I had a bad episode 2 yrs ago(before using a sway bar),
that's why I was wondering if maybe 2 would be better than just 1.

I don,t EVER want to go thru a scare of a lifetime like that again with our "52" Ford P/U and trailer.

Also, since then,
I now use the brake control and electric brakes that we're already on the trailer.
I think I installed the brake control about 2 days after that episode.

Excellent with the trailer electric brake. You can also stop any swaying after it has started by just reaching down and applying the trailer brake only by the brake control lever. Very nice setup with the trailer matching the pickup. Will definetly run into you this summer at one of the meets.

One should do you.

I use an anti-sway bar, just one. As far as I know that's all you should use. They are adjustable but don't tighten it too much.

If you still encounter sway then you are either driving too fast or your hitch weight is too light. Of course it could be a combination of the two.

Thanks guys.!!

I "might have" been going just a weeeeeee bit too fast when it happened,
but I sure am alot more careful now.
