Hi All

I am getting ready to order a Brake Controller. I have decided upon either the Tekonsha P3 or Prodigy.

The Tekonsha P3 is $30 more than the Tekonsha Prodigy. I know the P3 is the latest version, but for $30 how different are the 2 products?

Also, do I need to get a additional harness for my chevy Tahoe -- or does that come with either Tekonsha model?

Thanks.

P3’s more informative display swayed me to get it.

George.

Thanks George, that's exactly what I needed to make a decision.

[b]As to the second part of my post:

Do I need to buy an additional harness for my Chevy Tahoe, or does every thing I need to install in in my car come in the P3 package?

If your Tahoe has factory installed Tow Package, a 7-pin Bargman box with wiring should already be ready for towing. To use the Tekonsha brake controller, this $15 cable harness (for 2003-2006 or this one for 1999-2002) makes completing the installation quick and painless. In anticipation of getting my new Casita 17, today I installed a similar Tekonsha cable in my Nissan truck (Prodigy controller from Casita 13' ownership 7 years ago). It was "plug and play" at its best!

Hey nice post!

I got a 2007 Chevy Tahoe with the toe package. No problem with the 7-pin Bargman box: already towed the trailer home.

But for the Tekonsha - assume that I'll need the Silverado and/or Chevy '07 harness. Correct?

Going to (Tekonsha's website) and using vehicle specific search shows Catalog #3015-P still applicable for your later 2007 Chevy truck.
