Smile Tire and Wheel Bearings Question

Does anyone have experience using 14" or 15" tires on a 16 ft Scamp in order to get more tread on the ground vs the 13" tires? Or a suggestion of the best (maker and tread) tire for a Scamp subject to pothole New England roads! What about the frequency, in mileage, of repackage the wheel bearings.
Thanks. Doug

I put a Dexter 45 degree down axle on my 1988 Scamp Deluxe in order to put 15" tires on it... I wanted to match the same wheels as on my tug (that didn't work out like expected). Tires are Goodyear Marathons (ST205/75 R15) and I've experienced zero problems (knock wood). The axle is an EZ-lube and the bearings are repacked according to the manufacturers recommendation... and grease. I don't go off road with the trailer, but no one would ever say Oregon's roads are smooth as glass either.

Funny, Baltimore used glass for paving back in the 70's- still glistens today

We have ST205r14" C rated tires 1760 lbs each at 50 lbs set to 30 lbs as recommended by boler to match original boler tires with a 3500 lb axle and leaf springs
The Scamp 16' is similar in weight?

I can just barely get my 13's out of the wheelwell so I know I can't go bigger. I grease the bearings once a year and since I never get to use it that's more than enough.
