tire size for 1972 Boler

Good day all.
ok, gonna get new tires for my '72 boler. 5 bolt 13" tires. The ones that are on it now are "car tires". I will be moving to a trailer tire, that seems to be the consensus in the trailer towing community. The size, 155 is something my tire guy is saying might be too small. He recommended going to a more standard size like 175. Not a big deal for size difference, only an inch or so I think. Any experience out there on clearance? I will measure tomorrow during the day, but there must be a host of sizes on trailers out there. Thanks all.
Regards,
Kyle

Kyle, the clearance may depend on the condition of your axle. Have a look at my post below to see what I'm talking about.

Roy,
Thank you for the links. That is great help. I think since I am taking the frame off the body, why not add two square pieces under the axle and raise it up. I will be doing some other small welding changes before I coat it. Not sure about the axle condition, but it ran fine and if I can avoid the expense I will. So, you used 145? That seems small? I guess the question is what is the maximum size one can put on the unit. I thought the bigger the better for wear and running (with obvious reasonable restriction).

Roy,
looking through your posts above, would you think I could get away with the following listed:
NEW - 13" CHROME TRAILER WHEELS, W/ OR W/O TIRES - 400 AVAILABLE - London Parts, Accessories For Sale - Kijiji London Canada.
Seems like a good price from what I've been shopping for. New rims and a spare for $ 180.00? Should I try to get smaller, or raise the frame? Chrome would be fine?

Dave Bese was helpful and gave size conversion above of "165-80R13ST" for the 13’ boler.
original listed as 600x13-2 ply / B78-13 with recommended with pressure 28 psi 1010 lbs. capacity per tire.

The 165-80R13ST seems like lots of tire to me and on 13" Chrome rims they will look great!

Do not know the load capacity of the rims but doubt that will be a problem.

All I am doing to the trailer this year is:
1 breakaway switch for trailer brakes as it is law for my size trailer
2 Have Michelin 205r14 tires on trailer with have a load limit of 1532 lbs each or 3064 lbs. total; close to what it maybe loaded but would work on our 17' unit.
New tires c rated tires would have a load limit of
Max. Capacity: 1,820 lbs. each C rated 3640 total and the axle is 3500 lbs * Goodyear St205r14 C the extra 438 lbs could be good to have at a scales.
3 New hot water tank and shower retro fit to the bathroom project is started but need the winter weather to let up for completion
4 RV Shock retro fit for better ride on the northern washboard

In general the trailer is in great shape
