Tongue Weight Issue???

I don't like the spare tire mounted directly on the fiberglass body in the back of my 13 ft Boler, so I would like to mount it on the front next to the propane tank. I would have my battery on the other side of the tank also. Does anybody see a problem with there being too much weight up front with this set up? Thanks.

Just curious. It's been on the back for 25 years, is it causing a problem now? Or you just don't like the looks. And yes, you should probably consider packing things just a bit differently inside to keep the weight balanced as before. Although a tire/wheel doesn't weigh all that much in the grand scheme of things.

Unless your tow vehicle has severe TW limitations, moving the spare to the front will likely make a better tow (any weight as far back as it can get from the axle is a sway contributor). Try it with some U-bolts on side or underneath.

I think it was leaking through the holes where the tire was attached as I found some water damage underneath. I would also like to put a small storage rack on the back onto a hitch sleeve for a little extra storage space.
