That is interesting Roger. Even the new, highly praised Pentastar V6 had head/gasket issues in the early builds.

I guess it does sometimes take a bit for the issues and bugs to be worked out. Nothing like getting a bunch of them on the road for a real beta test.

I'm not sure "Interesting" is the word my sister and brother in law would use to describe their situation on that trip. They ended up having to trade that one in and purchase another vehicle to get home. Could not get it repaired soon enough to make it back to work.

I do think they pushed their speed in the mountains a bit more than I would have but hard to say, I was in a school bus camper and was waaay behind them.

I towed a 17' FD for 3 years with a Grand Caravan. Two trips to Alaska and never had a problem.

Dick, that is impressive. Did it have the 3.3 or 3.6?

3.6 With an after-market transmission cooler.

If I had not moved up to an Escape 5.0 I expect I would still be towing with it.

Towable with my minivan?

I know ours was a 3.0, and 2 3.3's. Good to hear the new ones are better. The old ones couldn't be trusted.

I tow a 16 foot Scamp with a 2008 Chrysler Town and County. It has a 3.3 liter v6 with aftermarket tow hitch. I don't have a transmission cooler. It tows my Scamp very easily. I limit my speed to 65 mph mainly due to the rating of my tires on my Scamp. My Scamp has brakes and I had a brake controller kit put in my Town and Country so it stops very easily. I don't have any problems accelerating. The Town and Country has tons of interior room and is very comfortable for traveling.
