Towing Mirrors - Jeep Wrangler

Hey there,

This is my second year with my lovely 1974 Ventura. I love it and it tows great behind my Jeep Wrangler. I'm having problems though finding towing mirrors that will fit on to my stock mirrors. I've been searching for a few days now on Jeep sites but have not had much luck.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on which universal mirrors work the best or if anyone knows of any custom Jeep mirrors?

My Jeep is a two door '07.

Thanks

For universal fit, the McKesh Mirrors seem popular. Jc whitney has the cheaper clones of these. There was a thread here about them recently. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I've got a pair that look a lot like this on my Kia- they work really well unless towing something wider than my Trillium.
Lots of RV places have them (try them on ) or buy online.

Thanks! I've been scouting around the Jc whitney site.

Francesca do they vibrate much? I've been seeing that as a common problem with extension mirrors in the comments.

I find it strange that Jeep has so much in the way of customization but not much in the way of mirrors.

Hi, Chantelle

I actually bought the mirrors above after taking back some add-ons that vibrated really badly, plus they wouldn't stay adjusted.
Those were the "suction cup to the mirror face" type, and I wouldn't recommend them.
I bought the ones I have now second hand and have no complaints at all.
I did add a couple of those itty bitty stick-on convex roundies to increase the visual field a bit.

Mine are the same as Francesca's.

Like her I added the stick on convex mirrors from Walmart.

We actually use the convex mirrors on our regular mirrors as well.

Since we started towing a Casita and Scamp, we almost don't need extra mirrors.

I found them at Amazon.com. They work real good and don't vibrate a lot. You really have to get the straps on tight.

I have one like Francesca does. Got it at Princess Auto (they have couple locations in Edmonton) for about $10. No problem with vibration.

Hi, Chantelle,

I forgot to add above that the mirrors I have are internally adjustable, meaning that once they're securely attached to the TV mirrors, you can adjust the towing mirror's face.
Maybe they all come that way, but it's worth verifying this feature before you buy...
Here's a tip:
Once you've installed and adjusted them the way you like them on your TV, mark one of them as to which side it belongs on. This saves the trouble of mixing them up and having to readjust every time you put them on the Jeep!
