Not sure that the newer 4Runner interior is anything like my truck, but here's where I installed mine. Just, just enough space that I don't hit my knee on it. If I had longer legs it would probably be a problem.

My biggest issue with this thing is that it's always on. No problem in the day, but at night the light from it is pretty annoying. But I seem to be really sensitive to light once it's dark out.

My 4 Runner doesn't have any depression under the dash and it just goes almost straight down... but as said I will mount it same place but had to build bracket out. It will work fine but getting it hooked up is no rush as the trailer is now buried in the back yard and will not be on the hook much before April.
Will probably have to shovel the 300 feet of snow to get it out for the Spring Fling in New England Rally on May 16.
Won't be the first time I've had to shovel it out.

Totally different over here. Pretty dry. Scary to think what that means for fire season next year.
