Towing with a GMC Canyon

Has anyone towed a 13 ft fiberglass rv with a GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado, 2.8L engine, 5 speed.
Tow info for the truck ranges from 2100-4000 lbs.
Just want to be safe and be able to tow. My mechanic says I will be fine but at the 2100 lb. tow capacity-I`m not so sure.
Any info is appreciated.

Towed a 19ft 5r with a 2003 S10 Crew Cab V6 absolutely no problem. The engine is bigger than yours but the egg is bigger also.

Can you get your 13 to weigh that much? I took mine to the Pilot truck stop to weigh it for the DMV and it wouldn't even trip the scales, they said the scale didn't even know it was there.

Try a quarry, grain elevator or metal recycling place for a scale that will see lighter weight's.

I thought 13' Compact Jr was 900 lbs to 1000 lbs and Casita Patriot Deluxe 13' 1465 lbs. plus 190 lbs. tongue for 1655 lbs. total with w/bath/AC, total lightly packed maybe 2100 lbs. Casita Patriot?

Have pulled for 5 years 1000 lbs with our old Echo sedan, actually car road better with trailer?

I think Towing is about: hp / gearing, suspension / hitch style (class, sway bar, WD) cooling systems, RV heavy duty Shift improver Kit and braking systems.

Sometimes we can change hp or gearing other times suspension upgrade or WD hitch then we can add cooling and braking even car RV heavy duty Shift improver Kit
this is a judgment and in the end we all decide.

We just have to make reasonable choices and keep it legal for our area
