I am posting because i was very dubius about going from a Tahoe V8 to a Toyota V6 for towing our Casita 16'. We just returned from a trip to Canada 1000+ miles and i can say I worried for nothing. The Rav towed easily in Overdrive up to 62 miles per hour, dropped into 4th on hills but did not search for gears. We averaged 18 to 20mpg towing. The trailer towed smooth and steady. If you have to travel at 65 + then stay with a big eight . If you can go at a steady 60 then the Rav 4 will do the job up to 2400 lbs loaded. The Rav with towing pkg is rated for 3500 , I would not go with that much weight or with a trailer longer than 16. I am getting 26mpg not towing but have had the Rav only 2 months. There have been no issues with this vehicle so far and Marje & I are pleased with the decision.

Hi Edward,

Thanks so much for that info. The V6 RAV4 is currently our number 1 candidate as our next tow vehicle.
Driving on parkways and parking in driveways.
