Hi-
I know this thread is a few months old, but if you're still trying to decide on a tow vehicle:
I've towed my Trillium 4500 all up and down the West coast behind my 4-cylinder 1997 Kia Sportage, and have no complaints whatsoever. It may be just me and the Bigrigs in the slow lane over the mountains, but that little rig has never failed to get me there.
ONE CAVEAT:
Electric trailer brakes are an absolute necessity with these smaller vehicles-
none of them will safely, repeatedly stop anything over 500 pounds.

Do not know Trillium weight but our 1700 boler is fine behind the 2010 4 Cyl Corolla. We live in Owen Sound on the top of the Niagara escarpment. Our car has tow package though from dealer with full tow package ordered at time of new car purchase.

-progressive transaxle cooler "recommended"
-hitch
-Proportional braking system and 7 pin wiring harness from dealer "required was told for our trailer." (agree: Francesca Kowles electric trailer brakes a must)

extras include:
-B&M 10226 Stage 1 RV heavy duty Shift improver Kit
Just a little extra
-Custom made Class III receiver with weight distribution hitch
CanAmRv too upgrade hitch from dealer for weight distribution unit.

-boler manual recommends a weight distribution hitch
WD systems require 2" receiver for that so upgraded to Class III. The boler is about 2500 lbs. Empty tongue is just over 200 lbs and class 1 limit is 200 lbs. Hitch upgrade gives us lots of room.
-Tansaxle cooler was told needed by all (dealer, rv lots, and all in the know) Was told "it is about the air we push not weight when trailer is under 4000 lbs."

In the end we all have to drive safe.

Trillium 4500 curb weight is given by Mfr. as 1400 lbs.By the time we leave town with grandkids, my husband estimates total weight at "around eleventy-bazillion lbs.", which I admit slightly exceeds Kia's recommended 2000 lb tow limit!
Our most important consideration has been tongue weight, which we keep at around 150 lbs. Any lighter increases "tail wagging", which can already be a problem given the short wheelbase of the tow vehicle.
