I recently purchased a 1974 Trillium 1300. Great shape, well looked after. The previous owner did a mod to the suspension by removing the original torsion assembly and welding on a new heavier axle / leaf spring assembly. He also raised the height with additional welding of material to the frame. This was for greater clearance and durability where he went hunting with it (logging roads etc.)

I now would like to restore to the original factory specs. Can anyone help with where I may find components to do this?

Congratulations - that was a great looking, clean trailer. My reluctance to purchase it was based on the lift he had put in as I didn't know how much it would cost to get it restored.

Let us know how the restore turns out.

Meanwhile, other folks are asking how they can change out a torsion axle to leaf and lift it all to get some clearance. Some folks are busy putting in after-market bathrooms and others are ripping them out to get space. We are certainly a wierd bunch of folks!!

This trailer had more lift then even the new Trilliums with the 2200lb axles and beefed up frame. It may just look like that because of the wheel size, however judge for yourself:

I had them redo the rear suspension on one of my hot rods so as to better drag the Trillium 'round, (LOL!!!) and while in their shop, I 'noted' they had a stockpile of torsion bar type trailer axles. Prices seemed right too...
