On my Sportwagen I had a compressor with a gauge and a release valve to raise and lower the rear end.
I had a "calibrated" stick I used to air up the bags.
It worked well for what it did, level the car.
Still it did not transfer the weight from the rear to the front for real balance.
Level is better than not level, balanced is better than just level
