My name is Terry Jones. A rather new member to your group. I purchased the 1976 Trillium 1300 from member Raya L. a short time ago. I am in the process of trying to update a few items on this unit. It needs tires before any long journey. It now has older Triumph 155R13 78T tires. They are M/S so I presume they are auto tires. What size tire/type should be on this unit? I have looked in past posts but could not find an answer, maybe I overlooked something.
Thanks, Terry

I don't know for sure. Sometimes the spec sheet is still in the trailer listing original tire sizes, or sometimes there is a plate on the outside.

The sizes have changed from the 70's, but here is a link to a conversion chart:

Here's a link that explains the #'s:

I do know that Carlisle makes some 155/80R13 ST tires, which would be a close match to what you have now. There are other trailer tire manufacturers that I assusme would make similar sizes.

Maybe somebody else will pipe in that does know the answer. There are lots of discussions here about using car vs. trailer tires. You can search for those to make up your own mind on type.

Hi Terry,

Nice to see you here

I seem to remember that the paper on the inside of the closet door listed the recommended tire size; but then you've probably seen that if it's there, and are checking here for the current-day wisdom.

Mostly I just wanted to pop in and say "Hi"

I'm about to start a few projects on my Boler, namely replacing the roof vent and removing, re-sealing, and re-installing the side windows. IF we ever get a string of sunny days forecast again

Okay, I shouldn't complain, since my home turf is probqably at about -20 F right now...

Hi Terry,

We had a discussion on the forum on Trillium tires this spring. I ended up with 13'' Nanco ST tires on my Trillium. You will see discussions on auto tires VS ST (Special Trailer) tires. Stick with ST tires - trailer tires for trailers I always say =)

I see it's been about six months since your post about Trillium 1300 tires. I now need to replace the tires on my 1978 1300. I am considering the same Carlisle tire, but in the radial version (it's available locally through Discount Tire at ok price, plus their for fee free replacement deal). Anybody used the radial version? Any reason not to on a 1300?

I put radials on mine when I was down in Fla and towed it back home with them. They worked excellent compared to the older ones that were on there. I think mine are a 185/75R13 but I am not at home right now to verify that.

I asked Trillium by e-mail about tires on their current 1300. They replied that what I am considering - ST 175/80 [b]R 13 - is the tire they are using, not the [b]D. The replyer said they needed to update the specs on the website and thanked me for pointing it out.
