World's Record

We just returned from Crater Lake, though I could have easily stayed a month. On the way back to Sutherlin, OR we averaged 31 MPG, a record for a gas powered Honda CRV. On the way up we averaged 21 MPG.

In seriousness we must of rolled from the lake to Glide, OR where we stopped at Muchies Cafe to get one of their famous Blackberry Shakes.

Rt. 138 is pretty much a no traffic road, a beautiful drive, loads of Forest service campgrounds and in good condition.

I'm sure most of the western Fiberglass RVers have been there but for you Easterners. it's one of the best places to visit in the USA, it deserves plenty of time.

Jim and John....
A lot of downhill jokes which our route certainly was about 6,000 feet down to 500 however it was not southerly but really due west.

Actually there is certainly a lot positive to say for the south, east or west, and even Washington DC can be a good place to visit.

We usually stay at Smallwood State Park when visiting DC, otters, deer and eagles plus right on the Potomac yet 25 miles from the city.

The most amazing thing about traveling America is that there are so many wonderful places to visit (N, S, E or W), so many welcoming people and towns, and everyone thinks our trailers are cute, even if they can't imagine living in them for 8 months (so far).

Great to know since my tow package for the 2002 CRV is on the way. That's a respectable mileage!

The mileage was towing our 2400 lb, Scamp 16. Probably anyone could do it since it is a real downhill run where the speeds never seem to get too high plus little traffic.
