Just made reservations for site 101. I think it's been a year or two since I last attended this rally. I'm not sure about who I was supposed to contact for my name tag since its such a late date to get started it may be too late for that.

Looking forward to seeing you again Kip . Just been checking out the archive and it looks like you was on site 101, 2 years ago and that is the site I will be on this year. If you remember you messed with me about moving off of site number 924-a to 99. Just out of curiosity are there any more Burros going to be there this year?

Hey Troy,

Glad you are joining us this year.

The date was October 2011. I remember it so well because it was our first time attending a rally. Pouring rain and windy. Multicolored wet leaves sticking to our campers, and covering them with camouflage. Then late on Thursday afternoon, the sun appeared and stayed with us the rest of the time, although the temps were cool/cold at night.

Your silver (Airstream look-alike) Burro was such a hit, that even the owner from Lil Snoozy visited you to get some ideas he could incorporate inside his line of Eggs.

I'm not aware of another Burro attending, but Jane and Greg are registered with their 13" U-Haul, complete with a fireplace! Truly a work of art! Last year it was likely the most "visited" camper at the rally.

Don't worry bout the name tag. Pretty sure there are spares.
What are your arrival/departure dates?

Kip,
Glad to hear from you, My memory is not as good as yours but I remember it being extremely beautiful that year. My expected dates is the 15 thru sunday the 16 and then it's off to Dale Hollow Lake State Resort in Kentucky to meet up with a couple of friends for 3 days there. I did e-mail Jean last night and he responded.

Jean and I have been talking, and agree that it be a good idea to remember to bring chairs to the Pot luck.

The park promises to supply tables for the porch in addition to inside the 66 person building. Even with that accomplish, our numbers are pushing the limits of seating, space and weight. So far the count is near 115 +/- folks.

So it might be a great idea to get together with friends you want to sit with and group your seating accordingly on the lawn. Even in advance of the Pot Luck. This is what many do at rallies without a Rec House. Of course, this is strictly voluntary.

One more thing. If you join us, cancel reservations, or move to another site, please be considerate and notify one of us.

Thanks,
Kip

Hi Kevin,

You are most welcome to visit with us and see what us Eggs Heads are all about. A great type of trailer and wonderful folks. Wife and I visited the rally in October 2010, although she was totally against EVER getting another camper. She fell in love with the Eggs and said the people were wonderful, and she wanted whatever they were experiencing.

Saturday, from 10am to noon, and 1pm to 3pm are the scheduled times for Parade of Homes, when many or most have our eggs available for visitors.

Of course you are welcome to drop by any time.

Don't really know about places to stay in Cherokee, but Google does!

Ann and I are on site 920. Stop by to see us!

No need to wait until you retire to start enjoying this way of life. Many of our groups are still working.

Site 91 available

Some folks have mentioned they wanted a site on the creek but none were available.

Site 91 on the creek has become available.

If anyone relocates there, please notify Jean or me, so we can make changes to our records!

Thanks,
Kip

Kevin, there is a Holiday Inn not too far away, directly across from the Casino. It would keep you close to the activities at the rally.

After a month on the road with wonderful weather, prognosticated wet, windy weather on the eastern shore found us scrambling for likely venues west of our previously hoped for shoreline and seafood madventure.

And, look what we found...the Cherokee Meet-up we thought was past is within our timing and travel radar.

Whoo-hoo!!! Through some serendipitous phone calling by Mr. 2yax, we just snagged site #74 coming in on Wednesday and leaving on Sunday.

Looking forward to hanging out, seeing new faces and maybe some recognized from 2 years ago.

Now I'm off to find the agenda for the weekend and what I can whip up for pot-luck with minimal cookery.

See y'all soon.

Craig and Josie - aka Mr. and Mrs. 2yax.

Kip, I talked to Greg yesterday and he told me he cancelled and would be attending. A family wedding in Texas changed their plans..

Looks like I will be bringing my wife Becky and would like to know if I can bring my camper without getting a campsite. Will be there Saturday morning and pull out before supper to get back to Ga before too late. Should not need to hook up while we are there. Would like to being it just to let others see it.

Chris,

You would need to talk to the Happy Holiday folks about bringing the camper into the park.
