Oh you and Gail fit in just fine, Frank. All you need now is an egg! Seriously, so glad you could join us. Tell Gail I will see her at the cutting counter!

You missed a great time Jim! The campground was lovely. There were a few glitches. That meet and great with local pastries never happened. The CG owner didn't provide anything. Luckily we had a flexible group and we did our own on the fly thanks to people donating refreshments. Then we were evicted from the large, close pavilion, and stuck back in the woods in a tiny pavilion that we barely fit in. It worked out great though, as we were a bit rowdy and may or may not have had pyrotechnics and illegal firewood. I tried to tell people that you really do exist, but I'm not sure they believed me!

Also - if you haven't already, you should check out Jon's photos. He took some great ones!

Thanks Sue, you're the best. And don't be surprised if you see both of us at the cutting counter!

Sue, these are the same campground owners who told me when I called months ago if we were just coming in for the afternoon to look at eggs, we wouldn't be charged. Somehow that slipped their minds... No big deal, I certainly did not mind paying, it's just the old bait & switch thing that gets me!

Take care and have a great day!

Frank

Frank; put a beer in one of those can koozies and you'll fit in with the hillbillies. Truth is we have camped with Frank & Gail and they fit in just fine. Good luck in your search for a fiberglass camper, and hope to see you again. This was a nice group to camp with for sure. As for the campground, we didn't deal with any of the personnel other than at check-in, and a brief good morning to the lady cleaning the bathrooms. The vintage trailer rallies that we attend at another KOA are run by the campground owner, and she does an excellent job of organizing it. Meet & greet with snacks, pot luck, ice cream social, pancake breakfast, and locally advertised open house tour at no cost to the public. Because of the number of participants , 30 plus, she gives a 50% discount for the second night of camping. Small campground, extremely nice owners. And for Jack, 3 miniature goats.

Thanks Bob. We did have a good time, but left confused. We're not sure which way to go, but while Gail was not originally interested in something older that we (read "me") would need to restore, she is more open now having attended this egg rally and seen some older well-loved (hint, hint) trailers. As for me, I'm just dying to go camping!

Enjoy your day.

Frank

On CG promises kept and broken, I'm guessing some of the employees on the main desk aren't writing down all the details of phone scheduled incentives and requirements for facility use. We stopped by the group camping pavillion early Fri. morning and found two employees moving picnic tables into the shelter. Not for the morning eye opener obviously. We got a nice site that allowed good scope for anchoring dogs but not the site no. I asked for by phone in June. In the lucky charm dept., we arrived early on Thurs. and signed, paid, and were on site by noon, two hours ahead of the 2pm checkin. Whassupwidat? Golf cart escort going to lunch/break/off shift? Don't think so. Goofy ain't it?

Jack - some of those sheeple look suspiciously like llamas and alpacas. All of which make nice warm mittens and scarves.

Jack,
Please tell us that's a marshmallow and not a -(gasp!) sheeple kebab! (gasp!). Say it isn't so....

FYI, my friend and I were also charged to spend just the afternoon. Definitely not a group-supportive campground from the sound of things.

Jean believes they're Alpaca; she's a knitwit and should know. She's never met a fleece she didn't like! Marsh mallow is a medicinal plant; s'more makins is gelatin and corn syrup. I hate mutton.
