Alas, Rosemary that seems to be the case. That was not my understanding when I originally spoke to them. She said short term visitors would not be charged. When we set everything up, they were more than accommodating and seemed to be quite happy to have a group like ours. They were also very accommodating to Brian M. when he had to cancel and then was able to join us last minute. But things seemed to fall apart after we got there. Apparently they also called Ken multiple times when he was late arriving, even though he explained the first time that he was stuck in traffic. It's the little things that add up to a bad impression.

Bash Bish, a watersplash on the NY/MASS line, some happy hikers, and Katterskill Falls, top and bottom for comparison. Big difference in water volume.

Rosemary and others,
Please let corporate KOA know about this and any other concern. KOA is very responsive to complaints about their managed cgs. Also rate them on various cg reviews and let them know that they did not uphold their part of the deal.

Jack: Just repaired door hinge today. Replaced screws with bolts.Could not remove top screw due to lack of clearance over hinge pin. Had to drill out screw head. Obviously doors are put in place and hinge pins put in last. Since right side of hinge has 2b moun ted 1st this would explain mis-alignments to door opening. Poor engineering. Anyway door now solid ! Ernie

Good on you. I won't tell you about trying to take out a couple of pony watchers on Assateague Island with a door flapping open (someone who shall remain nameless locked the dead bolt outside the strike plate). Pulling the latch paddle after locking is pretty much ingrained now!

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for a lovely weekend! It was my first rally, and great to see what everyone was doing with their eggs! (Although there were very few breakfast eggs being prepared in those eggs.)

My favorite moments of the weekend were at both campfires. The first, when we silently rolled by with the Prius, and were told that the group had decided it was a practical joke. Nope! The Prius rocks our Scamp! The second was our spontaneous campfire music.

Thanks to all for a lovely trip!

Ken,
It was great meeting you and Stephanie. Most of us still think that pulling a Scamp 16 with a Prius is a practical joke. But somehow, you made it work! We had a great time with the campfire music as well. I'll try to work on my Yamaha OmniChord for next year. And there is always Nancy's accordion (although that might affect attendance) That is said lovingly, of course! I donated my banjo to our local school district last year so I am immune from character assassination by musical instrument. At least for the time being.

Who knew you could make solar s'mores after dark with a theater light. (You had to be there.)

Sorry, I gave it up (and the guitar due to arthritis) just hurts too much to play. Am working on an electronic version of the autoharp. If I practice enough, we'll give that a shot.
