Frank, is your current camper considered vintage? There is a vintage camper rally in Vermont the last weekend in September. Bring your boat, the launch on the Connecticut river is a few miles down the road.

Vintage? I don't think so. Classic? Maybe, as it's 30 years old. It shows it's age, but has been mechanically, electrically, and HVAC-wise updated just last year. It's a great little trailer, but I hope to have it sold by then Bob. I need the money for a down payment!

Where in VT?

Thanks!

Old enough to qualify, and they're not that fussy about age anyway. Rally is at Brattleboro KOA. The only fiberglass camper there in July was a Trillium 4500.

I'm not sure that I can stay for the potluck as my friend and I may be traveling on into New England afterwards. If we can, then we will buy some bread or dessert along the way up.

Thanks for opening this to non-owners.

Just a little over a month until our get-together. It's not too late to reserve a spot if you haven't already!

Any reason the get-together doesn't appear on the Upcoming Events" list?

ParkLiner 34 Going Missing from Copake Rally

Sorry All,
We returned home this afternoon from a chilly (it went down to 34 degrees last night) but pleasant weekend at Bowman Lake State Park in Oxford, NY and picked up the mail from the neighbors only to discover that I had received a summons for jury duty beginning on the Wednesday before the Copake rally. As NY only allows one postponement (and that bridge is burned) I had no choice but to call the Copake KOA and cancel our reservations for the rally.
This was going to be our first FG rally and we were really looking forward to seeing everyone's rigs. And the potluck. Never underestimate a good potluck! Anyway, the folks at the Copake KOA were very gracious about returning our deposit (less the cancellation fee, of course) and assured us that should the State of NY reject me (fat chance) and they still have space that weekend, we would still be welcome. So, who knows, if things change at the last minute, we may yet make it. Officially, though, I'm afraid you'll have to count us out. Grrrrr!

When you are asked by the court asks what you did for a living, tell them you retired from being a tax attorney, that should keep you off any jury

I'm guessing that if I tell them that, they'll think I probably have a working knowledge of the definition of perjury!

Better yet, have a copy of Reginald Rose's "12 Angry Men" under your arm while sitting in the courtroom awaiting selection.

I have learned how to answer their questions so as to get excused. The last time I was called in, and after the lady in charge did her talk and asked if anyone thought they had a reason to be excused, I said that I had a hearing problem and couldn't understand most of what she said, so I was excused for medical reasons. I actually do have hearing loss, and it's real bad if there is any background noise. My last few DOT physicals I had trouble passing the hearing test. I've found other times it was best to get picked right away for a jury, then when the lawyers start with their questions I would give answers I knew they wouldn't like and I would be excused. Many times trials were canceled or delayed and I never even had to go into the courthouse. I really don't like jury duty.

You're right Donna. And you have to look at the bright side, if I am selected (like last time), you have a six year exemption! Then, less than a couple of years until the permanent exemption age and -wait a minute- I'm getting old here. I've got lots of stuff left to do......

In my experience, many are called but few are empanelled. You might want to air the tires and pack some grub just in case.

Except, this time it's Grand Jury. You don't get dismissed for a single case, you're on for the entire month. Near as I can tell, my handicap sticker will only get me a better parking space at the courthouse.
