It's almost time to get ready for the trip to Quartzsite, AZ, and the BIG LadderBall Tournament. It's only a few weeks away now. All of our interested fiberglassers can start looking for partners for the double elimination tournament. Can't find a partner? Not to worry, we'll tell you how to join. I also understand some prizes are forthcoming. It's easy, and fun, to join in. There will be one set of ladders set up early in the week for those who want to practice and get the hang of throwing the bolos (At the ladders please, not at the husbands!). The tournament itself will have 4 ladder sets to speed things along. The tournament will take place Saturday afternoon, right after the Soup Thing. See you in Quartzsite. - - Earl A.

Soup Thing: If everyone would bring a can of soup (Not cream style) they are poured into a couple of large pots and shared with everyone on Saturday afternoon. Snacks are welcome.

Gage, in the post right above this one, has an excellent picture of a ladder.
Scoring: The top rung is worth 3 points. The middle rung is worth 2 points. The bottom rung is worth 1 point. Players alternate each throwing the bolo, one at a time. Bonus points are also available.

We will be playing as two teams, two on each team. One player from Team 1 goes first, then one player from Team 2, until all six bolos have been thrown. Score is awarded for each team.

Play resumes from other ladder with second members of teams 1 and 2. Players need to remember to alternate who goes first each round. A game is whichever team reaches 21+ first.

It's legal to knock other teams bolos off the ladder. Only bolos remaining on the rungs count for points.

Be sure to see the new 22’ Oliver Trailers in the Desert Gardens area on Kuehn Street at Q Mountain Road, near the footbridge over I-10. Tell the salesman Larry Harmon that I sent you.

Really enjoyed last year but left my Scamp 5er up in Washington this winter. Now I regret it. I might come down for a day prior to check out the RV show.

Steve Hammel: Would be fun to actually meet the man behind the voice , who sold me his favorite spot at the Bandon, OR meet. I had a ball!

Pete: TELL ME when and where the Gospel JAM will be!! It was the best'est thing I did/attended while in Quartsite, 2 years ago. It was in a huge community hall, at a teeny, tiny 'gated community'...with about 50 SENIORS playing and singing. I thought I'd gone to heaven and videoed much of it. I would love to hit it, on my way home from Algodones/Yuma, back to cold, rainy Oregon.

Frederick Simpson: Pass it along, please...my Stephen just loved his gigantic coffee cup, that Robert hand-crafted. Look forward to seeing the two of you again, in Bandon.

Stopped and talked to Larry when I was there last week; nice guy. I liked the bigger version trailer, but waaaaaaaaay to pricey for my taste

Although the show is over, there are still many vendors selling various things. The RV show this year did not seem to have much of interest for me, although I did get 3 LED light bulbs for Scamp, a Ultimate Beverage holder and LED Strobe lighted stick for my recumbent trike, and a USB cord for iPAD.
