For those wanting reserved sites - follow the instructions on Freds site above. The campground has historically blocked off a section of sites as unavailble from their online reservation system. You can make a reservation by phoning them directly from March 1, 2014. Reserved sites are serviced (water and electrical) group is boondocking.

Yes Jim,
There are many a dog, the odd cat and many a non boler. Anything molded fiberglass is welcome. Other kinds of trailers do show up e.g. Airstreams and Scotty's but they end up in the reserved sites. It is customary for the group site to be all fiberglass. Fred and Donna bring a Class C to hold all the stuff needed for the event but usually leave it in the parking lot next to the field. You can come early and stay late, many do, but the group site is only available on the days of the event.

It is a large meet, usually over 100 trailers. The majority are in the main campground, occasionaly there is an overflow into the sites across the street.

The event name "bolerama" partly traces back to the Delphi Forums group "Boler ama". I believe that the initial meet and occasional anniversary meet is held in Earlton, where the bolers were made for a number of years in Ontario. Those meets end up being smaller because of the travel involved for many.

It is a loosely organized meet. There is a small fee to cover the cost of a hot dog & hamburger dinner on Saturday as the pot lucks were becoming difficult to manage with that many people. The meal includes salads and deserts, it is a bring your own beverage and seating. Many step up to help where they can, some donate a "door prize" for the after dinner giveaway. That is typically something they bought thinking they would use and found out it does not serve their needs or space. Fred gets donations from RV Manufacturers and Dealers. Ed Shooks maple syrup is a prized prize.

There are group campfires with music on Friday and Saturday. Most people check out the trailers during the whole weekend, just due to the size of the event. Typically there are a few for sale.

Check out the pictures from the link in the first post, they will give you a good idea of the event.

Hi Kathy,
I'm not sure.
NPCA Reservation Service says March 1, 2014
Fred says: "reservations can be made calling the Park office in April 2014" in the instructions he posted. Bolerama information

For the cost of a long distance call, I'd try the earlier date. I'm sure someone will post when the campground is accepting phone reservations.

In prior years the campground has marked the sites they have set aside for bolerama as unavailable on their online reservation system. The reservation system covers a number of campgrounds. It must be their way of being able to keep most of the bolerama group together.

Hitchstock 1st timers

Hi everyone, My wife and I are hoping to come to the rally this year. We have a 13 ft. 1974 Trillium and stumbled upon a Rally in Algonac Michigan last year. It was so fun we want to come down to Long Point this year. We went online to book a site but the Lakeside Campground was all "non-reservable" (but for 2 sites)....I hope that means they are set aside for the rally......We are looking forward to it.... hope we can reserve a site!

Dale,
See posts 1 and 2 above they tell you how to reserve a site if you don't want to boondock with the group.

Have left a message at 905 899 3462 but no return call.
Can any one verify that the c/ground is, Lakeside and the group area is near pavilion 2, near campsites 113-127, 212-217 ??

Quoting Freds instructions: reservations can be made calling the Park office in April 2014 , 905-899-3462
It appears that 905 386 6387 is working until then.

The Lakeside campground is the closest. The North campground is a further 3-5 minute walk. Some of the sites are actually closer to the event than some in the Lakeside. Both are in the same park, you have to cross a main street from the North campground to get to the main groups.

Spoke to Netaniel this AM.
The res/sites are a little far from the group so am going to go for the group camping area. was assured there is lots of shade in that area, .
Planning to arrive Fri (11 th.).
See all then.

Hi: james kent... Seems I will have to change my name to "Alfred Hitchstock" to attend.
Sorry to say we missed most of the weather hiding in Florida for 3 months
