What a fun time, seeing all the "options" that are available, several of which I am currently considering. Thanks Floyd for pointing out to my wife that I am not as knowledgeable as I think I am. ( Winters in Wi are a bitch!!!) Looking forward to my second rally...............

Glad we were able to come up for the weekend! We had a good time, and definitely learned some things! Was great to see other trailers, as I still hadn't yet been inside any others!

Found a crack in the frame when putting the cover on when we got home, so looks like we're starting our reno earlier than expected. Glad that it made it back in one piece!

Nate

Great that you found the crack when you got home. If you don't weld ..there are many places that will do it for you.

It was nice meeting you guys. Have fun with the renovation..make it functional for you and your family.

A great big thanks to Tony & Darlene for all their work organizing this gathering, and everyone who helped make this a great time for Farley and me.
Spent last night at Tim and Cheryl McGinty's when I dropped off Parker. I found his bag of carving wood when I unpacked the back of the van. Will get it in the mail tomorrow.
I arrived home safely today with a couple hours to spare before going to work at 5. Power steering fluid stayed full but I did leave a trail of spots at every gas station. I also managed to do a small number to my front bumper and headlight at a gas station when I forgot to put the car in park and drifted three feet into the back of a big pickup. Luckily his receiver didn't have the hitch in at the time so damage is minimal, but I'm sure expensive to repair.
On Sunday someone introduced me to a lady who also camps alone but I was kinda distracted about the power steering problem on my car so I remember only faces, no names. Let me know if it's you or you.
Hope to see you all at Taylor's Falls this fall.

Thanks to all

Thanks especially to the Parrs, Hartmans, Luc Riezebos for all their help in keeping the wheels on during the rally. We extend our appreciation to the Laneys for their sharing their site with anyone who came along as well as the morning coffee and evening popcorn. Our usual very entertaining group of musicians must be recognized and a nod to Floyd Clark who generously shares his time and knowledge with those in need or distress. Kathy Dalby put in hours on the google site, which was a great asset.
We think the final egg count was 57 with about 120 attendees, after a while the event takes on a life of its own, as Dave Parr would say. There where at least 9 off site visitors with an interest in FG and several campers from other loops who came to the open house Saturday.
We trust everyone got home safely. We tried to have a fire Sunday night with Imo, Caroline, and Jerry but were rained out. Left to a warmer (finally) Monday morning, and got back to Mount Horeb about 4:15. Terrific pictures that capture the rally by BillE
Almost the best part was connecting faces with names we've seen for the last year and having so many first time folks and new-to-us people.
To wrap up the campground owners said that we were the "best group they've every had... by far"

A big thanks to Cornelia at Cobb Cheff USA (https://www.facebook.com/COBBchefUSA?fref=ts) for the donation!

On my grill that weekend I cooked:

1) a loaf of bread
2) 4 pound chicken
3) 4 pound pork roast

Yummy!

I think it was Jerry who wanted this recipe.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

3 cups oats (not instant)
1-1/2 raisins

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes

Thumbs up

What a wonderful time and a great bunch of people. FG folks just seem so easy going and friendly. I asked at the office if we were "behaving ourselves" and the reply was totally in the positive.

Kudos to Tony, Darlene, and all of the others who contributed so much.
