Only three weeks to go folks!
Here are a few of my thoughts on the
event.

Friday Night

Hot Dog Roast/marshmallow toast
Beer/Wine exchange
Chocolate Table

Saturday Night
Potluck
Story telling
Campfire

Rules of the game:
· No rain allowed
· Bring rain shelters just in case
· Uniform of the day-Buffalo Plaid
· Bring firewood
· Bring tables for potluck
· Bring fishing gear in case the fishing is really good(no license required)
· Name tags required Friday and Saturday evenings
The plan is to have a community hotdog/marshmallow roast on Friday evening @ a Camp site yet to be determined. Make a name tag so we know who you are. The beer/wine exchange will basically be beer and wine put out on a community table for tasting and/or trading.
Chocolate table will be anything chocolate this year and will work the same as the beer table. Bring your favorite chocolate, either store bought or homemade.

Don’t be shy about adding anything or speaking up if you have other ideas or questions. This is a group effort and should be a whole lot of fun.

Smile Door Prizes

Good suggestions Kim. (This is following the precedent set by Donna D in her Oregon NOGs.)

Some other activities:

"One man's junk is another man's treasure."

Bring along something for a door prize at the Saturday night potluck. Not a requirement. Don't buy anything. Just bring anything you have around the house that you don't need any longer. Something useful, funny, cute, or ??? (Nothing questionable, like old Playboy magazines.)

Don't forget, this is a NOG which stands for Non Organized Gathering.

If some of you have remote-control cars, we can have a race!

You still have time to brush up on your stories or jokes. (Clean ones.)

We haven't done a sing-a-long as of yet, but we may give that a try. Anyone else know the words to "Sweet Violets?"

We want to keep the activities in line with the principles followed on this blog.

A note on the beer exchange. Donna D requires micro brew but I don't think we have to limit ourselves. Maybe just no Budweiser, Miller, nor Coors. Just a six-pack.

Hint: If you are coming from the north, you can save 44 miles by taking WA 167 in the Kent Valley, to WA 512/161 turnoff following WA 161 to WA 7 to Morton, then left on US 12 for about 5 miles to the sign just past the overhead bridge. (Morton is 30 miles east of the I-5/US 12 junction.) It is a winding road, but very scenic. (No gas/restaurants past the Meridian Ave shopping area until Eatonville and Morton.)

Oops, did each of us forget to tell you? I twisted Karen Langlois' arm* and so she is signed up for Site 224 and I am signed up for Site 226!

*"Arm twisting", it turns out, involved several hours of my helping to move a woodpile, piles of sticks, overgrown plants, cracked flower pots, old coolers, several large tarps etc. from in front of her Burro ("Burrito", as she calls it), bringing by my bolt cutters and cutting a lock off of the hitch that she couldn't locate the key for, hauling her Burro to the gas station (since her car was at the moment leaking some unknown fluid) and filling up the tires somewhat, scoping out and dragging Karen (and the Burro) to a local car wash with bays to power-spray a layer of green algae, helping her wash her trailer, etc. etc. etc. She also did a lot of prep work on her own, she reports.

You are too damn FUNNY...that was a good one. I'm hoping that 'our Deb' has an equally GOOD ONE, today! ! ! !
Please give her my 'VERBAL HUG' and hope to see both you, soon.
