Scamp Owners International (SOI) is pleased to announce the inaugural gathering of Scamp Camp Far West.
We are non-discriminatory! ALL (I do mean ALL) molded fiberglass brands are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Don’t let a bunch of Scampers scare you off.

The Event: Scamp Camp Far West
Dates: May 15-19, 2014
Location: Pine Grove, CA. That’s just up the hill from Jackson, CA on Highway 88.

We have reserved sites at Gold Country Campground Resort for this kickoff year.
Reservations can be made now. You will need to call the campground directly to
reserve a site (209)296-4650 and ask to reserve with the group of “Fiberglass and Friends”.
Sites are $31.50/ night (tax included) for full hookups. We are almost booked out,
but have 7 spots remaining.
First come, first served.
Once you reserve a space, leave a comment

There are several sights in this immediate area you might be interested in visiting while here.
Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills a couple miles from our Scamp site. The park nestles in a little valley 2,400 feet above sea level with open meadows and large valley oaks that once provided the Native Americans of this area with an ample supply of acorns. The park was created in 1968 and preserves a great outcropping of marbleized limestone with some 1,185 mortar holes -- the largest collection of bedrock mortars in North America.

Gold rush town of Volcano. The town is located just north of Pine Grove (just down the hill from Grinding Rocks. The town is registered as a California Historical Landmark.
Black Chasm Cavern is also located in the immediate vacinity. Tours daily are available. Visitors to the cave are enchanted by the beauty of a wide variety of formations.

Kennedy Mine - in Jackson: The Kennedy Mine, famous for being one of the deepest gold mines in the world (at 5912 feet), demonstrates how gold changed an entire way of life in California. The site is open every Saturday and Sunday, March through October.

Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort is also nearby.

The Town of Jackson is a neat place to wander through. They even have a kitchen store with everything for the kitchen! If they don't have what you want - no one else will either. The hot dog place, on main street, is an education on what "hole in the wall" means.
