Inquiring minds want to know. In the sidebar box of UPCOMING EVENTS, it appears many of the events are listed in date order. But, this one is not on the list. Does it have to do with the title for the thread? The way the dates are presented? There may be others also, but I have been following this because I am going. Just curious as how the events are pulled over to the side bar.

Alice, I'm thinking the events are pulled from the calendar. No listing in the calendar... and it doesn't show up in the Upcoming Event.

Takes some time to add to the calendar. I do it, others may not.

Donna, you are probably correct. Thanks for sharing. Knowledge is a good thing to share.
Just for grins and chuckles, I added it to the calendar. Lo and behold, it showed up on the side bar almost immediately. It did not take that much effort to add. Just had to go back and gather a little bit of information about nearest city and times. Now I can sleep tonight.

Thanks for adding the event Alice.
Maryhill started out as a "hey, we're going camping - anyone want to join us?" in 2010 and has become an actual 'event' with people like yourself attending from out of the area.
I'll make a better effort to get it on the calendar next year, but don't worry, we'll be there .
I think there are folks in 23 sites attending this year - I'll get the list updated when I get home.

Paul, no problem to add the event. I learned something new. I am watching the upcoming events because I'll be making a x-country trip/Scamp in June and am keeping an eye out for any I may be around at that time. It is also nice to see the events listed in date order. Check out the calendar when you have time. Just click on the event from the UPCOMING EVENTS off to the right and there will be a small dropdown box, EVENT OPTIONS on the lower right hand side to edit the event. There are some fields I did not fill out you may want to like event info or url to campground. I just did the minimum to get it on the calendar.

Hello Paul & Cramping Friends,
We are "late to the party." But we realize that this year, we CAN make MARYHILL, *if* there is a space for us.
But alas, in checking tonight for arrival May 15th for 3 nights, I see nothing in the 1-51 loop.
So, if anyone needs to cancel, please contact Simon & Sharen. We'd love to make this meet-up this year.
Thanks,
Sharen

I'll be leaving St. George, UT for Maryhill on Tue. May 13. Since I will be traveling in territory I am not familiar with, maybe some of you can give me some guidance. I will be traveling on the Interstates I 15 and I 84 and am going to try to stop close to Twin Falls ID on Tuesday nite. Are there any good stop over/truck stops along I84 BEFORE Twin Falls? I am only sleeping, will stay hooked up and will be on the road again early Wen. morning. On Wen. nite, I want to stop within an hour or two before Maryhill. Any suggestions? Also, if anyone has suggestions for eating along I 84, that would be appreciated also. Thanks.

Alice,

Not too much around Twin Falls - we usually just stay at the KOA in Twin Falls if we're passing through, it's convenient and has a little cafe onsite. A few hours from Maryhill you might consider Emigrant Springs State Park, or right across the bridge at Umatilla is a nice little COE park right on the Columbia in Plymouth. Plymouth Park Near Plymouth on the Columbia River in Washington

This link has more parks! Good luck - see you at Maryhill.

I have a policy of NOT stopping in Idaho. They don't allow over night sleeping in their rest areas. If were me I'd try to plan so that I got across the border into Oregon before sleeping. Doing a GOogle search it appears that there's 3 or 4 truck stops near Twin Falls. I searched on "truck stops near Twin Falls, Idaho". Good luck

I am trying to do approx. 400 miles a day. Allowing me to leave on Tuesday and arrive there on Thurs. early in the day without being all wore out from driving. Hate to spend more time driving to a place than the time I'll be spending there. Not knowing the area along my route at all, I proceed with more caution. I like the Emigrant Springs State Park suggestion and it would be perfect for Wend. night. I'll check the distance back from there and see where it places me for Tuesday nite.

Everyone, don't forget your sewer donut! You'll need it for the 90 degree, non-threaded sewer connection. Cost < $6 at Camping World and should be available at just about any RV parts place.

Hi,

We are in the process of moving across town and while we would dearly like to be at Maryhill, we just can't make it this trip - too much going on. We have space #46 for Friday May 16 & Saturday May 17...there is an abhorrent 50% cancellation fee, so if anyone would like the spot, I'll sell it for what I have in it, $80.50 (I'm allowed to reassign the permit holder online). Otherwise I can change the dates and use it later in the year.

If anyone is interested, PM me and we can discuss.

Thanks!
Tony & Virginia

Is $40 per night the going rate for site #46?
That seems very steep!
