Any birders in the group?

Just saw this event listed! Didn't realize there were more rallies in Oregon besides the Bandon event, which has been a little far for me. Anyway all the RV sites are booked but they let me make a reservation in tent site A52. Am hoping I can make it. Bought a 1995 Scamp last week but don't have a tow vehicle for it yet. Had to leave the Scamp in a storage lot more than 200 miles away. Will try to get it together to make this event! Let me know if you are a birder; there's a bird list on the Silver Falls website.

If anybody needs to cancel, let me know...missed the Maryhill gathering due to a home move, but looking to try another get-together.

Question

on the "Tent sites" and loop A... It is our preferred area as it is filled with beautiful tall trees and nice shade, you should enjoy the stay.

Donna... Will there be a elephant gift drawing like in the past? If so i've got a few nice RV hand-me-downs to add to the give away list.

Thom

My wife and I may not make the October rally. We have B28 reserved. We will know by Sunday, if we are going to cancel.

I'll be posting a schedule of events (HA!) this next weekend.

Yes there will be a small give away drawing. Any and all (new or lightly used) interesting items are welcome.

Remember, to win something in the drawing you HAVE TO be wearing a name tag! Make it, buy it... whatever and please wear it. We have a number of newbies.

I don't keep a list of folks cancelling. But there may still be a couple that need to. In addition to John' post above, you should keep an eye on this thread at the CasitaForum, starting at this direct link, please read all the way through to make certain a site hasn't been snagged: Northern Oregon Gathering (NOG) Fall 2014 - Casita Travel Trailer Forum - Page 2

Thom is right A loop is beautiful. But this is Fall NOG and it's liable to drop down to freezing at night (has the last couple of times we've been there) and it's nice to get plenty of sunshine during the day, that's why we're in B Loop.

Hope this helps!

THE Schedule of events such as it is... This is the Fall NOG. While it's referred to as the Northern Oregon Gathering, I kinda prefer Not Organized Gathering

Daytime hours are completely unscheduled. Feel free to do what you wish, sleep in, hike, go to town, play cards, etc., etc. As far as trailer tours, nothing scheduled for that either. If you see folks sitting outside, stop and chat and ask to see their trailer. I've found most folks have informal Open Houses.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING/WEAR A NAME TAG.

We will have some raffle items to give away... BUT YA GOTTA WEAR A NAME TAG to get one. Please wear it all the time. We have some new folks to the NOG... it seems like the polite thing to do.

No-host dinner on a stick roasting fire going at my site (B5) on Friday night.
This is not a potluck, bring everything you need. Fire will be roaring, come by anytime after 6pm. And the biggy:

CRAFT BEER EXCHANGE
7PM SHARP
FRIDAY NIGHT
This is an "opener" event.

Everyone is welcome at anytime to anything. If you're not a beer drinker that's perfectly okay. Please bring your lawn chair and join us anyway. Beer is secondary to the good times we'll have around the NOG campfire.

Saturday potluck at my site (B5) 6pm.
Bring a food item to share that feeds 6-10 people, your table service and lawn chair. I'll supply the garbage bags for trash. Does anyone have a folding table they can bring? I don't think one picnic table and one folding table will be enough to hold everything...

Hope this helps with some questions. Post if not, we'll get the question answered.

Ah dang John. Sorry.. we'll miss you and Kathy. You can cancel with ReserveAmerica up to four days before your date of arrival and get your money back. If you are willing to wait a bit, you may find someone wants your site. I can help facilitate that if needed.

is there some way to see more than a tiny thumbnail of the campsites? All I get when I click on the map at Reserve america is a teeny thumbnail photo.

Thanks for the link. Carol and Mike were there for another event but had the wrong number for my site and didn't think it was close to theirs but it is, and obviously it is, from the pictures. Theirs is the picnic table in the background of mine.

Here's to hoping some tree-trunks are showing in our #13 to hang a hammock or two (carefully and tree-lover style). Otherwise it's one of them on the BoonDOX stand. Nothing quite like an afternoon nap in a hammock in the _woods_.

another more famous "Thomas" (Edison) had some of his best "Ah Ha" moments after his many-daily cat naps... who am i to argue with Genius!? And without my catnaps who knows how long it would have taken me to dream up with all those _fixes_ on our TT? But that is another topic all together!
