I just did a quick screen grab of the lakefront campsites of the Michigan DNR site, to see what the riverfront site situation looks like for our weekend. The red and yelloe dots are all reserved sites and as you can see, the riverfront is GONE! But lots of campsites left in the park and there are great views to the river from the first 4 rows. Last year, I was on the corner site 52 (its a BIG site )

I've lived in Michigan my whole 60+ years and had to look on the map to find Algonac.

I would have guessed it was south of Detroit, not north.

Looks like an interesting place with a nearby wildlife area that could be a great place to paddle.

I'll be on site 219.

Algonac is just about halfway between Detroit and Port Huron. Or, for our Canadian friends, between Windsor and Sarnia.
