We're not camping but Ginny and I will be over for a walk around at least on Saturday. We're camped about 20 minutes from the Scamp Camp

Hope Marilyn and I get a chance to meet you. I've read hundreds of your posts and one of them helped push me to make the retirement decision earlier this year. Smartest move I ever made since marrying Marilyn over 40 years ago!

Like others, I look forward to having the chance to meet in person. Your posts have inspired me to plan many trips and moods to our 5er.

Norm and Ginny, you might need 2 days at Scamp Camp. You're the rock stars fiberglass trailer world. Seriously, quite a few of us enjoy following your RV lifestyle. Really looking forward to meeting you. Please stop by site 026. Are you writing these down?

Tom

Rock Stars

Their are always a lot of 'RV Rock Stars' at the Scamp Camp. I'm sure everyone will enjoy the event.

It's funny I used to be in the rock star business, back when I had long hair and a beard, wore flowered jeans and carried a leather purse. We had two companies that made electronic music instruments, one made keyboard synthesizers and the other electronic drums. Definitely a different time and lifestyle for me. Those were 2 of my 5 year careers.

Life has been fun. Outside of marriage, I've never had a career that lasted more or less than 5 years; year 14 for life on the road, the best career ever and I don't even get paid.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

We'll be in site 038 - arriving Sunday (2/08) and departing Thursday. On the way down, we'll be stopping at Anastasia SP in St Aug for a few days (site 87 from 2/05 thru 02/08).

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

The temp is getting down to about 5 deg tonight here in Tenn. All of a sudden, wifey is wanting to head SOUTH then starts looking at Sebring. HAHA. (I know it's not until Feb. but still....) Well she didnt realize it's 760 miles and plus...every sight is booked for Sat. night the week of the rally! Sounds like a GREAT place to be in February though.

It's definitely on my "Bucket List" but doesnt look like it will be this year.

Honda03842 is camping 20 minutes from Scamp Camp. Sounds like there might be room there. We're currently at Faver Dykes SP and it's basically full.

Darral, looks like site 008 is open Wed and Thu at Highland Hammocks. Between that and the campground referenced by Stretcher, you might be able to put something together that would work. Come on down. Just saw the temp was 71 today at Sebring and that sure beats the teens we have here in northeastern NC. I expect its even worse in TN.

I have a really cool and colorful woven hammock which I would love to take along, It even has tree protector tie-offs, but ironically you can't use a hammock at Highlands Hammock!
In fact I'm not sure there is any public place which allows the use of a hammock!

OK. Time to clarify for non-Floridians. It is called Highlands Hammock because it is in Highlands County. And a hammock is an area of high, dry land surrounded by a swamp/wetland. So technically, if you stay at HHSP and you doze off, you are sleeping on a hammock.
