Kansas Eggstravaganza VIII is only a little over 6 months away.

Our gathering is for Fiberglass campers and friends. Come as soon as you can, stay as long as you can, participate as much or as little as you like.

Registration at Farnum Creek Campground opens 6 months prior to the first day of your reservation at: Facility Details Booking Window - FARNUM CREEK, KS - Recreation.gov

It worked so well last year, we will continue the $3 per person ($6 per trailer maximum) registration fee this year. Pay when you check in.

Last year it was suggested that we have a tour of Ft Riley. I was looking into that, however the DOD just threw a monkey wrench into the works. Except for valid DOD ID card holders, visitors to Ft Riley must now enter the reservation through the Visitors Center and have a criminal background check completed. These take about 10 minutes per person so it is just not practical to have a bus load of people processed. I have asked the CVB to make up a self-directed guide so individuals who want to tour the fort can do so on their own.

Our major agenda change is that we are doing away with the evening potluck. We are keeping the breakfast potluck, however. I was planning to have a catered dinner by Anderson’s BBQ, but so far I have been unable to get a hold of Mitch, so that is up in the air at this time. (As some of you know, he was not open last year due to insurance problems concerning the lack of fire suppression equipment in his kitchen) He is looking for a bigger place with a fully equipped kitchen. But, he is not answering his phone. I will keep trying.

We got home from Green Eggs & Ham on Wednesday only to get back on the road to attend a funeral on Thursday.

I just checked Recreation.gov. There are 9 sites left in A-Loop that can be reserved. (There are 10 first come first served sites)

I only have 7 names to go with the sites that have been reserved. I will send out another update when I have more names.

Kansas Eggstravaganza VIII (2015) April update

There are 4 sites still available in A-Loop. They are 6, 7, 13 and 19.

I have names to go with 18 sites: 1, 2, 4, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18, 21, 22, 29, 31, 34, 37, 39, 44, 45 and 46.

First come, first serve sites: 3, 5 (handicapped), 8, 17, 23, 26, 35, 36, 40, and 43.

14 sites are reserved but I have no information: 9, 12, 14, 20, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 38, 41, and 42. If you have one of these sites please let me know.

As of this morning (4/18/15) only one site in A-Loop is available: A-7.

I have names for all but 5 of the reserved sites. (They are 20, 25, 27, 38 and 42). If you have one of these, please let me know.

I have only first names for sites: 13, 28 and 29.

If you are planning to attend and do not have a reservation, please let me know for planning purposes. Remember that there 10 first come/first serve sites in A-Loop. B-Loop has no hookups but will be almost empty so there is no need to reserve a site in B-Loop unless you just want that specific site.

I do not post the list of attendees on any public forum or site. I e-mail it to those on my mailing list. If you want to know who is attending you must be on my e-mail list.

Kansas Eggstravaganza Update

I am working on the agenda and having a very frustrating time trying to set up the catered dinner with Mitch. I have called and left messages with his wife and on his voice mail. He has not returned my calls. I have even sent him an e-mail and received no response. I am thinking that he is not interested in catering our rally. There is another barbeque caterer that I know about. Should I contact him?

We could just go without a community evening meal that night. I don't want to reinstate the evening potluck since we are having the breakfast potluck. We are also doing lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant* so just going out again doesn't appeal to me but we can do it if the group wishes, however.

*(I am not even going to bother to ask where you want to go this year since it's always the same answer)

We have 35 trailers signed up at this point. Campsites 20 and 42 are reserved, but I do not have names for them so they may not be part of our group.
