I have been trying to charter a bus for a group of us to go on the Bourbon tour of two distilleries and lunch at the Old Talbott Tavern. The only sure thing I have found so far is $100 per person which is unacceptable to me. So I am trying to see about chartering another bus and bus driver in the area. I'm having a little luck, but not much so far. How much is too much $$ per person if I do this? I was thinking for a 20 person on Saturday morning for about 8 hours rental. Starting about 8/ 8:30 AM then headed to makers mark distillery (https://www.makersmark.com/distillery) back to the Old Talbott Tavern
(Talbott Tavern – Historic Bardstown, KY) for lunch then to Jim Beam distillery
(Tour Info and Reservation: Jim Beam American Stillhouse. | Jim Beam®) and then back to the
Campground.

1) You will pay for Each distillery. They will charge a fee for their tour.
2) You will pay for your own lunch, but it is located downtown Bardstown Kentucky with a lot of little shops around.

Keeping in mind this is just the payment for the bus. Not to include lunch or entry fee for the distilleries. Taking all this into consideration how many are interested in me getting a bus??

Is this something I should pursue if there is not enough interest I will not pursue it any further. I'm hoping it will not interfere with the dinner that evening

Please PM me and let me know how many are interested and what is a good $$.
NOT GOING TO BE FREE... LOL

I will let everybody know the price I can get the cheapest bus/bus driver for and if there is enough interest.

Site 31 looked OK to us when we walked around checking all the sites. Almost all the sites have some slope,so be sure to bring your leveling equipment for slight adjustments. Welcome to the group!

Thanks for welcome. I loved my two scamps.
I have been told I have gone to the dark side with the van. LOL
It looks like I'll be vanning in June.
I still go to egg camps. Made some great friends during my scamping days.

Just ran across this event, sound like fun. We have been thru the area a few times and wanted to spend more time, sounds like a perfect opportunity. Just got into Scamping earlier this year, enjoying every day since.
We have got site 37. Hope it is a reasonable site for a 13' Scamp, glad we could get in, looking forward to the weekend.

Welcome. These are the ones that we found to be really steep: 15, 20, 25, 27, and 29 when we checked it out.

Thanks for trying, Troy. We can all pile into cars. Some might not want to go through 2 distilleries. I know one couple wants to visit the Kentucky Renaissance Faire while they are there, so they may not have time to tour any.

I have considered seeing if folks might want a private tour of Maker's Mark. You get to go farther into the distillery. There is a greater cost though.

There is just so much to do there, that you need to spend a week to do it all.

It looks like the campground is almost full. Just think what that will look like as all these little campers trail in and fill their campground.

Looks like one site left, number 36, that Kevin did not recognize as being too steep. We walked around it and noted ones that seemed too difficult to camp in. Our numbers are different from the campground descriptions. They might have been basing their information on bigger rigs.

Hi All,

Laura and Dean. Site #36

Hey, we just bought a new to us 2005 Casita 17' Freedom Deluxe in mid-November. The owner was kind enough to deliver it to us from Harrison, OH (480 mile round trip). We don't have a tug yet, but we are going to southern GA this weekend to, hopefully, buy a '09 Kia Borrego Limited V8 2WD rated to tow 7,500 lbs. w/ WDH. Hey, we have never RVed in our lives, but are looking forward to Empty Nest Adventures. Our youngest will graduate from high school in May, thus we are putting together our plans.

FYI, I had a bad experience with bourbon when I was 16!!! As a result, at age 53, I still have little interest in bourbon/whiskey. However, our pontential Borrego will seat up to 7. We would be more than happy to be a part of a caravan and serve as a designated driver for any touring. We would love to tour the distilleries, but just not taste!

Looking forward to June!

Laura and Dean
