Advise the reservation specialist you are with the EGG CAMPING GROUP in order to get the 20% discount! Sites normally run $32 - $49 depending on location and hookups then discount is applied but ONLY if you tell them about the EGG CAMPING GROUP - they will need to run this through Penny or Jeanne for this to apply TO ALL DATES you are staying - even before or after in one continuous block of days. Currently there are about 20 eggs reserved but hoping for lots more! There are waterfront sites, full hook up sites, water and electric sites, etc... there are even 7 cabins and some bunk houses available for those without campers. The recreation hall is available for $50 for the time listed as well as a central campfire ring with some seating around it. 6 golf carts are available for 24hr or 8 hr rental, shuttle service to local attractions such as casinos. There is a camp store/restaraunt with quick service type fare and breakfast type fare, free pond fishing with some 7-8lb Bass - stocked - can keep and eat if you like. Stocked stream fishing will require a $10 tribal pass available about 1 mile away, WIFI available, paved main road, etc... LOTS to see and do within a short drive - EXCELLENT leaf peeping this time of year in the national park, Casinos, Clingman's Dome, Cades Cove, Tail of the Dragon, Wayah Bald Lookout Tower, LOTS of waterfalls - Grotto Falls, Soco Falls, Mingo Falls..., Brasstown Bald, Chimney Rock, Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, Carl Sandburg home, Ghost Town in the Sky, Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum, Sliding Rock, Lake Lure, Ricky's Soda Shop, etc... We are trying to help keep this great rally going - will need lots of help and guidance. At this time this is non-scripted with no host. We are trying to step up a bit with the fiberglass community and get help and suggestions to make it happen. Please help! Please volunteer!

Cherokee was my first rally, in 2009. It was a good rally and I look forward to it again this year.

We just signed up and were given site 25. My best wishes to you all, BUT, if any of you have to cancel, let me know so I can ask to be moved closer to the group. HH will not keep a list for such. Opal said she had no idea how many others had signed up. Anything else I need to know? We have been before, so I know the usual info, but this thread is pretty bare this year.
Barry and I look forward to seeing everyone again. Eggshells on the Outer Banks was cancelled because of the hurricane. Originally, we just couldn't do two rallies back to back, but now we can return to the mountains!

Rhonda and I will have name tags for everyone to fill out at the meet and greet; also I need to know if there is an interest in a pot luck dinner Saturday evening, so please give me some feed back. Talking with Happy Holiday, seems there was some confusion with the booking of sites in one area, so before you settle on a site that is away from the group check to see if other sites are open! If we have a pot luck, I would prefer Friday rather than Saturday night. It is hard to keep food fresh til Saturday night that I packed on Thursday morning and bought on Wednesday. Perhaps we should skip it this year and just see if we miss it.

Rhonda and I would like to thank all of the attendees of this officially "Host Free" rally for making it a huge success. We had a total of 20 camping units with 38 campers in total attendance . The relaxed atmosphere allowed for free time to explore the many different venues that the area had to offer. The weather was sunny with above average temps for the entire event. We hope to see you all here again next year; once again we have secured a 20% discount on all nights stayed during the rally. So set your calendars for Oct. 12-14, 2017; Happy Holiday Campground is accepting reservations so go ahead and call and be sure to mention the egg rally.
