Hi All,
Thanks Sandi for stepping in for me.
We presently have company visiting from Florida, so either thank them or not for bringing the warm weather with them. They will be leaving on Friday and then we will be on our way to Schodack Landing on Saturday.

So don't forget:
Chairs for sitting
Instruments for music ( I'm excluded since I can't carry a tune)
kayaks for paddling
Bikes for pedaling
Games for playing
And anything else
And most important, a big smile for GREETING

Have a SAFE trip, see you All on Saturday.

Bye for now
Ann and Mike

Regarding kayaking; keep in mind that this part of the river is below the Federal Lock & dam in Troy (first dam on the river). Therefore it has a current and is affected by the ocean tide. It can be smooth as glass, or if the wind and tide are in the right direction it can be really rough water. Also there is personal power boat traffic as well as cargo ships and barges which push a lot of water and create a big wake. We have been on the river in this area many times with our fiberglass boat that has a 80 HP motor, sometimes it has been a not so nice ride. The day we visited the park about a month ago I would not have put a kayak in.

I was wondering about that. Thinking of bringing a canoe. But maybe not. . .?

You may want the canoe. Like I said, the river can be like glass at times. I would stay close to shore though. I'd hate for you to be sitting there looking at the river and wishing you had the canoe. Just be aware of the hazards, and how the water can change, sometimes depending on which direction you are going.

Thanks to everyone who made our "maiden voyage" so pleasurable. We had lots of fun and learned quite a bit from all you veterans. "Happy Trails to you, until we meet again!"

Hi Chris and Charlie,
So glad to hear you ordered a new Casita, I'm sure you will be happy not climbing over each other for that middle of the night break.
Are you going to make an adventure of getting it at the factory?
Best of luck.
Ann and Mike.
PS. We also hope to meet up next year.

Ditto A&M's questions.

Can't avoid climbing over someone with a Spirit; they'd have to get a Liberty, or an Independence (and then give up the side dinette).

Here is a link to a Flickr album of photos from the Schodack Island gathering:

https://flic.kr/s/aHskJ3UdGg

If you're not familiar with Flickr, click on on of the pictures, and that will take you to a single-shot view where you can click to the left or right for the next photo, and you can see the descriptions and (if you are a Flickr member) comment as well.

I apologise for the ads; I think that if you sign up with Flickr, you won't see them.

Feel free to ad comments. I think I have everyone's first name correct (I did not post last names), but if not, please email me with corrections and I'll fix.

Two people who were there but didn't get on Mike's email list are Amanda (shopping) and Linda (Compact Jr). PM me or Mike and we'll add you for any future communications.

/Mr Lynn

New casita

Great pictures! We ordered a 17SD, so we will still be climbing over each other but with a tad more space. Our adventure will begin in January Again. This time we'll drive to Rice, then probably on to the little house guy, then across to Florida where we have reservations beginning early February. Any suggestions are welcome ...options, custom stuff, places to stay.

Selling our scamp if you know anyone interested.

LOL, we know two people that want a Scamp, but also know they don't want to spend anywhere near what yours is worth.

Chris, you should have tried our Southern Mattress. That's something you'll want. Stop at the factory in NC on your way home. We leave Florida Feb 1 for a month at Jekyll Island GA.

More pics!

Here is a link to some photos taken on our Monday afternoon paddle on the Schodack Island 'creek'. Not exciting, but there are a couple of interesting bird shots, which I should have cropped, but haven't, and a couple of trains, which I'm always happy to catch.

https://flic.kr/s/aHskKNpQ75

Added a little info in the descriptions.

Cheers,

/Lynn

PS Re the Southern mattress, Tom spent a good deal of time touting his. We just threw a topper on the cushions, and that works well enough for us.
