As we near the first weekend in June and the Washington Gathering at Taidnapam on Riffe Lake, here are some thoughts about what to expect. As I have said before, one of the best things about this gathering is there aren't a whole lot of "rules" so when things change, we adapt. At any rate, this is what we typically try out for this gathering.
Arrive at the campground on Friday 6/2 and get settled in. Most have reserved sites in the newer campground sites 200-288 in the past but you can certainly camp anywhere you want to.
Friday evening 6PM-hotdog roast/beer/wine/soft drink and finger food & chip share Bring your hotdogs to roast on the fire and beverages to exchange and share. There will also be a table for chips and finger foods.
Saturday, do what you want to do. Saturday evening 6PM potluck @ a site to be determined but probably with Maureen & Chris site 274. Dessert table should be mostly based on the chocolate theme.
What to bring.
1) Sunshine
2) Small Tables
3) Firewood
4) Rain canopies in case nobody brings #1
5) Any field games you like (ladder golf, corn hole)
6) Items for a draw numbers out of a hat gift exchange Friday evening, maybe with a camping/outdoors theme
7) Buffalo Plaid clothing
8) Name tags
The fishing report looks bleak but you never know. Water activities also may be limited due to extremely low lake levels
See You Soon!!!
